Liza's Review:
Leslie Kelly has been an auto-buy author for me from the moment I read her very
first book. I love her sexy contemporary romances, but when she switched over
to romantic suspense, I knew she had found her true voice. Add in the
paranormal and thriller elements of her Extrasensory Agents series, and her
books are golden.
I've wanted Derek's book pretty much from the moment he first
appeared on the page. Each of the Extrasensory Agents have a different gift and
Derek's is that he can see how people were murdered, and his talent is needed
to help solve the case of missing boys at an exclusive academy in Georgia.
Enter Dr. Kate Lincoln, who's brother Oliver has been missing from the
same academy for six months, and Kate needs Derek's help to figure out what happened
to him.
The suspense/thriller elements were very strong in Cold Image. I actually had to put it
down a few time when reading late at night so I could sleep through the night.
Ms. Kelly has a wonderfully twisted mind when it comes to writing suspense,
and I love every moment of it. I also loved that with Cold Image, we had more romance than in some of the earlier books.
The romance has always been a part of the story, but with Kate and Derek it was
more prevalent. I really found myself falling for Derek and Kate as a
couple. I liked the Kate seemed to get Derek in a way no one else really
did.
I'll put it out there right now. I usually have the who-done-it
all figured out very early on in a book. I wasn't completely right in my guess
this time, but I think it is because there were so many horrible
people to pick from in this book. Seriously there were really only a couple
people at the academy I didn't want to be eaten by the alligators in the swampy
area.
Cold Image was a wonderful
addition to the Extrasensory Agents series. I've been hooked on this
series since I read the very first book and impatiently await the release of
each new book in this series. I highly recommend Cold Image and the entire
Extrasensory Agents series to readers who love paranormal romantic suspense
books with thriller elements.
