Sometimes, to get what you want in business or in love, you have to get your hands dirty. Luckily for Finn and Justin, dirty comes naturally.

Finn Drummond is the baby in a family of sharks—which means he’s worked twice as hard to make a name for himself. After learning the tricks of the trade from his brothers, Finn’s just as ruthless and dominant. Out in the field, his appetites are legendary: for success, for money, for women and men. But when supplies from Drummond Charities go missing, Finn has to partner up with the smoldering ex–Army grunt who’s always challenging his authority—or giving him mixed signals.

Justin Miller wanted his attraction to Finn to be mutual, but the cocky brat always had a girlfriend. Who could blame Justin for trying to move on? Despite their history, they’ve got to work together to figure out who’s been derailing their humanitarian work. But after Justin and Finn are thrown together against gunrunners and kidnappers, their simmering chemistry turns explosive. Turns out, Finn knows how to handle himself in a crisis—and in the sack. Justin only hopes that hot sex is enough to persuade this spoiled pretty boy to do the right thing.

Liza's review:

Dirty Gamesis the second book in the Dirty series from HelenKay Dimon. I loved getting Alec Drummond's book with Dirty Deedsand really enjoyed reading Finn Drummond's book with Dirty Games.

I loved there was chemistry between Justin and Finn pretty much from the moment they met, even if Justin didn't deal with it very well. Seriously when they met years ago, Justin was so attracted to Finn, he slept with his brother Alec as a substitute. Of course, Justin is gay and in his defense, Finn, who is bi, did have a girlfriend at the time. I had to laugh at how hard it was for Justin to be around Finn and not be a jerk, as he kept trying to hide his feelings. Seriously, if something could be said wrong or bitchy, it came out of Justin's month when talking to Finn. I really expected Justin to have better game around a man he was attracted to honestly.

Finn and Justin came from completely different backgrounds, yet both had some really bad experiences with family in their past. I loved that Finn really wanted to not only help the people the Drummond Charities were already helping, but wanted to step up and do even more. I will say I was stumped by who was after Finn and trying to make him leave through much of the book. He was there to investigate missing shipments and discovered there were some weapons runners in the area. I thought I had it figured out pretty early on, but was actually pretty happy to be wrong. I love when an author writing romantic suspense keeps me guessing, and Ms. Dimon did an amazing job in Dirty Games.

I loved watching Finn and Justin figure out both their working relationship and their personal relationship and if the two could be one. Seriously these two had some of the most amazing chemistry and smoking hot sex scenes between them. I loved the steaminess of them together every bit as much as I loved the moments of tenderness between them.

Dirty Gamesis another winner from HelenKay Dimon. Fans who love romantic suspense books will love this book and series. I've been reading Ms. Dimon's books for years and highly recommend each and every book she writes, but have to say I have special love for her romantic suspense books.

Liza's review:

White Roses in Winter is the first book I've read by Barbara Meyers. I really liked both the hero and the heroine in this story.

Kerrie and Jason come from completely different backgrounds, but are immediately attracted to one another from the moment they first meet. There was really a sweetness about the romance between Kerrie and Jason, or there would have been if her dad wasn't trying to break them up from the moment he found out Kerrie was pregnant. I have to say as much as I liked Kerrie and Jason, I disliked her father more. Ken Huddleston really did believe he could buy anyone with his money, including Jason. I really hated that Kerrie's parents seemed to not believe their own daughter could think for herself and pick the man for her. Yes she had an accidental pregnancy, but as we discovered early on, so had they. I knew her dad probably wouldn't change his mind too quickly, but have to admit I was a bit disappointed at her mother allowing herself to be so easily manipulated. She could see Kerrie had real feelings for Jason, and didn't stand up for her daughter against her husband.

Sadly Kerrie's family wasn't the only person trying to break Jason and her up. Her "best friend" Tiffany had wanted Jason for herself from the moment she saw him. Really the nicest thing I could say about Tiffany was she was a spoiled rotten bitch. I really didn't see anything about her that showed me she would ever be anything but spoiled rotten. She was a user and I was really surprised at how long it took Kerrie to see Tiffany for who she really was.

I have to say the fact that Kerrie ever forgave her parents for all the put her and Jason through was absolutely amazing. I'm glad both she and Jason saw the importance of family, and did have the forgiveness in their hearts. I do wish both Kerrie and Jason had been more open with each other about how they felt sooner so they could have had fewer misunderstandings along the way.

Overall I did like White Roses in Winter, but did feel that Kerrie and Jason had so many road blocks thrown at them over and over again. It seemed like just as they found some measure of understanding, each time a new roadblock was put up. I'm all for a couple having to work to make their relationship work, but this was almost too much back to back to back. I really enjoyed the romance to the story, but all the roadblocks felt like too much.

About FIGHTING FOR EVERYTHING (Warrior Fight Club #1, 5/22/18):

Loving her is the biggest fight of his life…

Which is why Warrior Fight Club sounds so good.

Kristina loves teaching, but she wants more out of life. She wants Noah—the boy she’s crushed on and waited for. Except Noah is all man now—in ways both oh so good and troubling, too. Still, she wants who he’s become—every war-hardened inch. And when they finally stop fighting their attraction, it’s everything Kristina never dared hope for.

But Noah is secretly spiraling, and when he lashes out, it threatens what he and Kristina have found. The brotherhood of the fight club helps him confront his demons, but only Noah can convince the woman he loves that he’s finally ready to fight for everything.

FIGHTING FOR EVERYTHING – No Good Right Now Excerpt

“I’m no good right now, Kristina,” Noah said in a low voice.

She shook her head. “That’s not true. You’ve been through something horrible. And you’re still recovering. Still hurting. That’s all understandable—”

“I am fucked in the head. You saw it yourself. Twice,” he said, his voice suddenly loud, bitter. Under her hands, his muscles tensed.

“You are not fucked in the head,” she said, anger and determination gathering deep in her belly. Not anger at Noah, but irrational anger for him. She hated that things had happened to him that left him feeling this way. So out of control, so sad, so unlike himself. “Sure, you have things you’re dealing with. And you willget a handle on them—”

“No,” he said, shaking her off and pacing in the narrow space behind the door. “You don’t understand. I’m…” Noah’s hands squeezed into fists at his sides. “…so goddamned angry. All the time. It feels like I could tear the world to pieces. And I want to.” He whirled on her. “Because the perfection of everything around me makes me feel so much more wrecked inside that I can barely breathe.”

Oh, God

Tears pricked at the backs of her eyes, but she wouldn’t let them fall. She wouldn’t let herselffall apart. Not now. Not in front of him. Not when Noah needed to lean on her so damn badly. “The world around you is not perfect, Noah. It’s an illusion. And you are not wrecked—”

“I am.” He got right up in her face.

Kristina held her ground. “You’re not—”

“I am!”

He grabbed her by the arms, not so much that it hurt, but with enough force that it surprised her. “Here’s your proof. I want to fuck you, Kristina. I want to bury myself in you and stay there forever. Just lose myself in you until I don’t know who I am anymore. I’ve been fantasizing about it, dreaming about it, imagining it. Having you is all I can fucking think about. Do you understand what I’m saying?”

Noah’s words unleashed a flash fire in Kristina’s blood. Her heart tripped into a sprint. Her breathing shallowed out. Heat roared across her skin. One heartbeat. Two. And Kristina knew what she had to do.

Acting on instinct, she pulled out of Noah’s grip and stepped backward. Away from his confession. Away from him.

Wow! What an amazing start to a brand spanking new series! Laura Kaye knocked it out of the park with this one. The emotion in this book brought me to my damn knees. Over and over again!

I love the friends to lovers trope! I love that there's a solid foundation of friendship already established. Kristina and Noah have been best friends since childhood. Their relationship has never gone beyond that. And neither of them even entertained the idea. But things begin change when Noah comes home from serving his country. There's a burning attraction that neither can deny. But Noah has suffered a traumatic brain injury and struggles with crippling migraines and PTSD. There's so many obstacles for them overcome.

My heart was shredded time and again when Noah would have a nightmare or get sick because of the migraines. I swear, I could feel his despair as if it was sitting on my chest.

Sexy doesn't begin to describe the love scenes in this book! It was hella hot! These two sizzled between the sheets...or against a wall. Yum!

One of the things that I really liked about this book was that Kristina couldn't "save" Noah. She helped him, yes, but she couldn't make him want to get better. He had to do that for himself. He couldn't be what she needed until he took care of himself. Finding the Warrior Fight Club was his first big step to healing. Working out his aggression and issues with people who understand what he's going through was exactly what he needed.

This book has all the feels. I went through a roller coaster of emotions. In the end, when Noah started moving through his journey of healing, they found each other and peace. I like that Noah wasn't miraculously better, I liked that it was a work in progress. They get their HEA, but it's implied that Noah is working through his issues. It made it feel real.

I'm anxiously awaiting the next book in this amazing new series by Laura Kaye!
