Turn Up the Heat is the first full length story in Kimberly Kincaid's Pine Mountain series. I missed this series when it was originally released, and am really enjoying the updated re-issued books so far. Turn Up the Heat is Bellamy Blake and Shane Griffin's book, and was a fun and sexy read.

Bellamy's day starts off with finding out her boyfriend is moving across the country for a job without discussing anything with her, and ends with her car broken down on the side of the road. Luckily, super sexy mechanic Shane is there to help her out. Shane and Bellamy's initial meeting was kinda funny, and I loved I could tell they were attracted to one another from the very first. 

Bellamy has the boss from hell, and being stranded at a resort in Pine Mountain with limited cell reception was really just what the doctor ordered, even if Bellamy didn't see it clearly at first. She gets to unplug a bit and spend time cooking for her friends and Shane. Buying and preparing food really is Bellamy's love language, and I loved she was so happy when she was in Pine Mountain.

Shane has a secret he hasn't really shared with anyone, and that includes Bellamy, even when their relationship goes from new friends to lovers. They have off the charts chemistry, and the two of them together could absolutely melt the snow covering Pine Mountain...seriously smoking hot times between these two for sure! As Bellamy had just come from a relationship with a man who kept her in the dark about his plans, I totally got Bellamy feeling betrayed by Shane for keeping her in the dark, even though they had only been together for a short time.

Turn Up the Heat is another winner from Kimberly Kincaid. I'm really loving the Pine Mountain series, and think it's absolutely perfect for fans of funny and sexy contemporary romances.

I somehow missed the Pine Mountain series of books when they were originally published by Kimberly Kincaid, but am her for the updated version of the books. Sugar and Spice is a wonderful start to the series, and this novella was a fun and fast read that contemporary romance fans will absolutely adore.

Lily Callahan and Pete Mancuso both enter and want to win the Pine Mountain Resort’s Christmas Cookie Competition for different reasons. Lily wants to win so she will have the $10,000 prize money to help secure a storefront location for her bakery The Sweet Life, that she is currently running out of her apartment. Pete wants to win so he can secure a position as the head pasty chef in a better restaurant. Lily and Pete have to team up for the first challenge, and they are total opposites, as Lily is a total recipe follower, and Pete likes to fly by the seat of his pants when it comes to baking. I absolutely adored their banter through out the entire book, and felt like they had a connection from the moment they first bumped into one another before the competition even started.

Lily and Pete had pretty amazing chemistry, and I fell every bit in love with them along the way as they fell in love with one another. I loved they kept being put together because their on screen chemistry was so strong, that they became the best advertisement for the competition. I felt like all the extra time together in such a short amount of time moved their relationship forward faster. I felt like they each learned from one another along the way, and with each new stage of the competition, I felt like Lily and Pete became better versions of themselves thanks to the other.

Sugar and Spice was such a fun, fast, sweet, and sexy read. I read it on a flight in one sitting. I really loved Pete and Lily as a couple. I will say the only thing about the book that threw me was the last chapter/epilogue being about another character who appeared earlier in the book, rather than where Pete and Lily were at that time. I’m excited to get time with them in this series in the future, and can’t wait to see what happens with  Shane Griffin in the next book.

The Grifter is the latest book in the Intelligence Unit romantic suspense series by Kimberly Kincaid. Ms. Kincaid has been on my auto-buy list from the moment I found her books. The Grifter was another wonderful edge of your seat romantic suspense.

Shawn and Frankie are former partners and lovers who are thrown together to work on a case to take down a drug dealer who has decided to set up shop in a Remington. Frankie is back in Remington for the first time in 8 years to take down drug dealer Beck. When she is paired up with Shawn, the chemistry they had 8 years ago is just as strong as before. They worked so well as partners and could truly read each other’s mind. I loved they had such a strong connection even after so many years apart.

While they are working undercover to take down the new drug ring, neither is prepared to learn Shawn has a 3-year-old daughter named Isla he never knew about. I really was surprised to see Frankie step up to help out Shawn, as she didn’t really seem like kids were her thing. I love when a character surprises me, and when it came to Isla, both Shawn and Frankie shocked me with how quickly they took to the little girl. Shawn had a protective instinct from the first moment he saw his little girl, but him falling for his daughter so quickly was a surprise to me.

Shawn and Frankie played off one another so well, when in their undercover roles and when they were spending time together. I knew with their crazy strong chemistry they wouldn’t be able to  stay away from one another for long. OMG they had so many smoking hot sexy times! Loved them

together so very much!

The suspense aspect of this story was so strong and kept me on the edge of my seat. I have to say if I was watching this book as a movie, I would have yelled out several times to watch out. There were a few twists and turns along the way I do wasn’t expecting. However, Beck being a truly evil individual was never in doubt. Ms. Kincaid took her readers on a wild ride with the most satisfying of endings.

Readers will meet many characters from other books in the Intelligence Unit series as well as other series in The Grifter, but The Grifter can be read as a stand-alone story with no issues. I recommend this story to fans of romantic suspense with lots of emotional and sexy times.

The Guardian is the second book in the Intelligence Unit series from Kimberly Kincaid, and it absolutely kept me on the edge of my seat from page one. Kimberly Kincaid writes amazing sexy romantic suspense stories with strong heroes and heroines. 

Matteo Garza and Delia Sutton are absolutely two of my favorite characters from Kimberly Kincaid. Delia and Garza have known each for years thanks to Delia being Garza's sister's college roommate, and Delia has had a crush on Garza from the moment they met. I loved while they are so very different, they were absolutely perfect as a couple. Garza is a workaholic cop who hasn't been in a relationship in years thanks to an ex who was totally selfish and horrible about his job. Delia is a numbers person who sees the world differently from Garza. However, when she is mugged and needs help, Garza is just the man for the job...especially when it appears the trouble connects to a cold case Garza and his unit have been investigating for a long time.

I felt the chemistry between Garza and Delia was subtle as the story started, but once they were around each other more, the chemistry was super hot and intense. Part of what I loved both about them is they each accepted the other as is and didn't want to change anything about the other. Some seriously smoking hot love scenes between these two! You have been warned.

Kimberly Kincaid writes such amazing romantic suspense stories. While I thought I knew who was working with Nicky to steal money, I somehow was blindsided by the real bad guy. Looking back, the trail was there all along, and I loved that Ms. Kincaid kept me guessing until the end. I love guessing about the bad guy when reading and while I usually figure out the bad guy, I love it when an author surprises me.

Kimberly Kincaid has been an auto-buy author for me from the moment I read one of her first books. Readers who love super sexy romantic suspense romances can't go wrong with the books in her Intelligence Unit series of books.

The Rookie is the first book in the Intelligence Unit series from Kimberly Kincaid. A shorter version of the novella was in the Danger and Desire: A Romantic Suspense Anthology, but the edition released on October 6, 2020 has more content. The Rookie is Xander Matthews and Tara Kingston's story. 

First, I adored both Xander and Tara from page one. Xander has completely turned his life around following a bad patch in his past. He not only has put his past behind him, but become a police officer to protect and serve. Tara has been driven to find justice since her best friend was killed in a random convenience store robbery when they were in college.

Xander and Tara grew up so differently, yet I felt their connection immediately. They worked so well together and I loved they seemed to open up so much with each other. They also had an intense chemistry and I loved them together so much.

I really loved the suspense elements to The Rookie. I’m a huge fan of romantic suspense, and felt like Ms. Kincaid did a great job keeping me guessing about what would happen next. 

While many of the characters in the series are from Ms. Kincaid's Station Seventeen series and Remington Medical series, I was able to read The Rookie as a stand-alone without reading some of the other series yet. I can’t wait to read more books in the Intelligence Unit series!
