Biopsy & day watching movies

So my doctor decided since the government was possibly changing the rules on mammograms, all of her patients to go get a baseline mammogram. So I had my mammogram about two weeks ago and then had to go back on Friday to get additional pictures and an ultrasound to check for cysts. When the radiologist was doing the ultrasound, she found a lump, so I had to go in today for a biopsy. I'm pretty sore right now, and won't know any results for a couple of days. However, it wasn't too bad. The doctor used lots of numbing medicine, so I really didn't feel anything. I had planned on going back to work after the biopsy, but my boss told me to go home(so glad since I have to keep putting an ice pack in my bra over the incision spot), so I spent the day watching movies and TV shows.

I watched the movie UP for the first time today and really loved it. It was such a sweet and funny movie. I spent the rest of the day catching up on Chuck, Castle, Ugly Betty, and Make It or Break It. I like so many shows on TV right now that I have to record many of them on my dvr to be able to watch them all, especially on Monday night when I tape shows from 7-10. On a fun note, The Biggest Loser:Couples is new tonight and it looks like another episode filled with lots of drama. Bob and Jillian really keep me motivated to stay with my weight loss plan, and I love all the drama that happens between the contestants each week. Next week, my dvr will add Tuesday as another over-worked night, since Lost will be back on the air. I can't wait to finally find out all the answers to the island and everyone involved.

Hey Liza, you are a very strong woman. This past summer, I had a lumpectomy done because I was scared when they found a lump in my breast. My mom had breast cancer and I was totally freaked out. I can't believe how calm you seem to be. I think what got me the most was waiting to hear the results. Talk about nerves. After my surgery though, I came home and went to sleep. I didn't want to talk to anyone at all. I am glad that you have your shows to watch. Definitely great distractors. I love Castle, and I wanted to start watching Chuck, but I didn't get a chance to see the season opener. I hope that all is well.

Peace and love,
Paula R.

Paula, I had my freak out on Saturday night. To my knowledge, no one in my family ever had breast cancer, but the stres of the situation finally caught up to me. Pretty much couldn't stop crying for a while there. Luckily, my sister and brother were both there to listen. Mine was really just a core biopsy, so although I'm really sore today, could easily go back to work.

I have my fingers crossed for positive biopsy results!

I adored Up - the first Pixar movie I flat-out loved since The Incredibles.

Thanks Wendy! I'll post once I have the results, which should be no later than Friday.

Up was so cute. I agree first one I've liked since The Incredibles too.

Liza,
I too had to get a biopsy recently. Tears streamed down my cheeks as I was disappointed that someone else had to handle my breast. It is such an invasion to be handled by every physician you go to. But finally it is done and "Benign".

I too did not go back to work afterwards. But thank goodness I didn't have any pain as you speak of. But wait til the bruising - that will be (well today) you should see your boob really bruised. Mine was lines - where he had cut.

I think it is good you blogged about it / I did the same. To share with other women the experience, the fear, and finally the moment to rejoice. I will lift your name in prayer for good news.

Thanks for your prayers, Tresa. I just wish the doctor's office would call me today so I would have an answer. I can see the brusing through the tape, which I am removing when I get home tonight. Keeps sticking to my clothes and pulling. I'll post my results as soon as my doctor calls.

Liza, I hope you get the all-clear and can stop worrying about this really soon!

PS: I also loved Up. Cried like a baby in the beginning. What a sweet love story.

Thanks Leslie. I called my doctor's office this morning and the results are on her desk. Just have to wait for her to come in now.

I borrowed Up from a friend, but think I'm going to buy it for myself. I cried at the beginning too and agree it as such a sweet love story.
