SEDUCING THE BAD BOY SPOTLIGHT GUEST POST

Second chances and a secret baby…with a twist!

Jack Sullivan has seduced some of the world’s most beautiful women. As a notorious, world-renowned photographer, his affairs are always hot, always scandalous—and never satisfying. So when he has a chance for a wild fling with high school sweetheart, he can’t resist. Only Angela Harris isn’t so sweet anymore. She has a secret that will rock him to his core and change his life forever. Their sultry reunion proves the bad boy can be seduced…but can he be reformed?

Note from Julie Leto:

Old...or new?  I want to be entirely up front with my readers...Seducing the BAD BOY is a revised version of my very first book, Seducing Sullivan, which was published in 1998.  I never dreamed I'd ever get the rights back and in fact, I'd even taken a couple of years off of writing for various reasons and was struggling with how to jumpstart my career.  Then, like a gift, I learned that Harlequin was reverting the rights.  I never expected to have a second chance with this book...but as it is a book about second chances, it was fitting!

But I didn't want to just update the technology and slap it online.  I wanted it to be the debut of the "new and improved" me...writing-wise, at least.  So I decided to do a major revision, expanding and exploring the characters and romance more in-depth.  I added a secondary storyline that would connect this book to others I'd had reverted, thus the Kiss & Tell series was born.  If readers are new to my work, I know they'll enjoy this super-hot, sexy contemporary romance.  If readers read the original, I have no doubt they will find it familiar, but with the new material, it may well surprise them!  Either way, I'm excited to be writing and publishing again and I'm grateful to readers who are willing to give the book a chance!

Jack held his breath, fighting the urge to kiss her right then and there. All night, he’d been amazed at the changes in his “sweet, innocent angel,” and he’d wondered how much was real and how much was an act meant to punish him for breaking her heart in high school.
When she started down the walkway toward the beach, he hoped for punishment—long, unending torture like what he felt as she glided away with a wanton swing to her hips.
He followed Angela out the door, over and across the deck, where she stopped to wait for him at the three-foot stone wall separating the resort from the beach. Moonlight glinted off foamy waves breaking gently on the shore about fifty yards away. A touch of the silver shine caught a diamond on Angela’s earring and beckoned Jack to her like a light to a lost mariner.
Memories of Angela had always drifted back now and then over the years. Her willful eyes and her stubborn pout flashed into his mind often at the strangest times. And since he’d received the invite to the reunion, with growing frequency. He’d received the email only weeks after Lily’s betrayal.
He’d been devastated. Broken in places he hadn’t known existed. The invitation, almost a non-sequitur, seemed like a perfect way to reboot what was turning into a blue-screen-of-death life.
Angela would be there. Angela, who had always been honest, straight-forward and caring. Angela, who had always told him the truth, even when it wasn’t what he wanted to hear.
And here she was. Ready and willing to fulfill a fantasy he’d had for over a decade.
She’d been on his mind constantly since he’d checked the “yes” box on the RSVP. He’d have written his renewed interest off to the consequences of first love syndrome, but they’d never been in love. How could they have been? They’d been too young to know what love was. He’d been in lust, for sure. Fire-hot, cold-sweat, prepubescent lust. But sweet, prudish, obstinate Angela had refused to give in when he’d wanted to and when she’d finally changed his mind, he’d decided the stakes had been too high.
Now, they were on even ground. They were both consenting adults. From the look of things, Angela was no longer afraid of her sensual side. In fact, she embraced it. How lucky could he be?
“Do you remember taking me to the beach that one time after the basketball game?” Leaning against the wall, she lifted her ankle to unbuckle the thin strap of one of her spiky silver heels. Her slim calves flexed and shimmered. All thoughts of his needs—except a physical one—vanished.
He knelt beside her and stared intently upward, aching to touch her. “We live in Florida. We went to the beach a lot.”
She slid her foot closer to him, accepting his invitation to help remove her shoes.
“Yeah, but this time was particularly memorable.”
For a moment, Jack couldn’t remember anything. His mind focused solely on her slim ankle and shapely calf. Before he worked the tiny buckle of the strap, he smoothed his hands over the soft silk of her stocking, imagining the feel of her skin. When she nearly pulled away but didn’t, he looked up and caught her biting her bottom lip.
She cleared her throat. “It was after the game where you’d missed that three-pointer.”
The memory flashed. “As I recall, you wouldn’t get out of the car.”
“You had a blanket in the backseat and a look in your eyes that said you had something to prove. It was terrifying.”
“You don’t look scared now.”
She slid her hands down, then under her skirt and closed her fingers around shiny black garter snaps.
“A lot has changed in a decade, Jack.”
Jack’s mouth went dry. “I can see that.”
“Can you?”
In the uncertain light, what he thought he saw was her shaking hands. Did she want him as much as he wanted her or was she still afraid? All evening, she’d watched him with a bold curiosity that questioned and promised at the same time. Every signal, right down to her naughty lingerie, conveyed seductive intentions. It crossed his mind that she’d come to the reunion specifically to have him, though he tried to muster enough humility to wonder if he was being cocky.
This is Angela Harris. The one girl who had the good sense to keep you from flopping on top of her.
But then she took his hands and guided them to her garters. The tightening in his groin increased.
She leaned forward and traced his ear with tiny, gentle strokes. “Now you have the idea.”

“I don’t understand,” she confessed.  “Am I dreaming?”
He gave her a short, gallant bow.  “You are not, mademoiselle.”
His reply was confident and reassuring, giving her permission to enjoy the way he lifted her hand to his lips and pressed a chaste kiss across her knuckles.  The sensation was electric, as if lightning had hit the ground and traveled through the earth to spire up her bones.
Suddenly, the night, chilly and sharp with impending snowfall, warmed.
“You are English, but not a pilot.  A soldier, then?  A spy?”
His grin was part indulgent and part…predatory.  Jeannette knew the look.  It was one she saw often when she went into the village to trade the eggs and cheese from her farm for the vegetables she had little luck in growing on her own.  It was the expression she hadn’t ever seen in Rolf, not even tonight.
It was desire—tightly controlled but unmistakable.
As if he was unaware of his actions, Paxton drew tight, tiny circles on the top of her hand with his thumb.  The contact was at once unnerving and deliciously intimate.
“A scholar, truth be told.  I was born in London,” he explained.  “I was educated at Eton and, subsequently, at the King’s College at Cambridge.  Except for an unwelcome assignment with my father in a craggy German countryside, I’m as British as one can be.”
Fear skittered at the base of her skull.  “But you’ve been to Germany?”
“Many, many years ago,” he answered quickly, though something in his tone told her there was more to the story.
“Then why are you in France?  You have to know that for anyone with German ties, or British ones, this is the most dangerous place for you to be besides London itself.”
His brow drew down tightly over his eyes, which, she noted, even in the darkness, were a sharp, cerulean blue.  He stopped the assault of his thumb on her hand, but he did not let her go.
            “Why is London dangerous?”
She rolled her eyes.  How could he not know news that had spread around the world?
“German bombs.  Blitzkrieg, Rolf said they call it.  They’re shelling London every night.”
He dropped her hand.  When he turned toward the slatted light from the windows, his face was a mask of confusion.
“How long have you been here?” she asked.
            “Too long.”
“Maybe it’s time for you to go.”
He chuckled mirthlessly.  “Mademoiselle, believe me, I would if I could.”

Phantom Series Spotlight

I’ve been a fan of Julie Leto’s for years. I’m pretty sure I own every book she has written in print and have ben slowly building my digital library as well. While I love my print books on my keeper shelf, I really do tend to read almost exclusively on my kindle now. I really can’t pick just one favorite series by Julie Leto to spotlight, so I’m picking one of my favorites to feature this week. I love her Phantom series so much! I have all the original books in print and also have each of the books on my kindle.  There are currently 3 books out in the Phantom series.

Phantom Pleasures ~ Book 1

When hotshot hotel developer Alexa Chandler finally finds the perfect property for her next luxury resort, she has no idea of the black magic she’s about to unleash. Thanks to vivid tales from the locals, no one has breached the shores of the mysterious island or entered the abandoned castle that is its centerpiece in recent memory. But once inside, Alexa discovers another mystery—the portrait of a dark and brooding nobleman.
With a single touch, Alexa unleashes a phantom who has been trapped within the canvas for over two hundred years.
Contained by a gypsy curse, Damon Forsyth has had centuries to think of nothing but revenge and retribution until intense desire draws the beautiful Alexa to his lair. Though free of the painting, he is still bound to the castle. Only by using the dark magic that enslaves him can he initiate a game of seduction that will end with his freedom—and her undoing.
Unable to resist, Alexa surrenders to Damon’s ghostly touch. But will she thwart the magic that holds Damon in thrall…or sacrifice her own mortality in the name of love?

Phantom’s Touch ~ Book 2

Silver-screen action heroine, Lauren Cole, has one more film to make before she’s free from her producer ex-husband, a smothering role, and a life she wants to leave behind. There’s only one thing she wants from that life: the antique sword her husband promised her in the divorce. So she steals it. Holding the weapon for the first time, she unleashes a magic that rivals Tinsel Town special effects—and makes her wonder if she has truly lost her mind.
In 1747, Aiden Forsyth stormed a gypsy camp and fell captive to a powerful curse that has held him within the sword for more than two centuries. Lauren’s touch releases him, but his liberation has limits. Corporeal only during the night, he remains bound by a dark and dangerous magic in the light of day—complicating his vow to protect the woman who holds the key to his ultimate freedom.
So the sexy warrior who haunts her days and inflames her nights must stay intimately close, especially after they learn that the madman trying to kill Lauren has ties to the very curse that has entrapped Aiden’s soul…

Kiss of the Phantom ~ Book 3

After rogue archeologist Mariah Hunter dumps a cache of ancient Mayan coins in the Mexican jungle, she ends up with a bounty on her head and needs a quick cash infusion to cover the debt. So when she hears that a priceless stone is up for grabs in a remote region of Germany, she scrambles to reach it before her rivals.
Nearly three hundred years ago, in a futile attempt to rescue his family from a mercenary horde, Rafe Forsyth springs an evil trap that keeps him captive within a hidden stone. Alone with his grief and rage for centuries, he is unprepared for the rush of attraction he feels for the beautiful adventurer who liberates his body…but can she save his soul?
Together, Rafe and Mariah race against time to recover the stolen coins and discover the means to free Rafe from the curse’s evil magic. Because until the curse is broken, the Gypsy’s kiss is the truest danger of all…

Dirty Dare: The Rescue

Dirty Dare: The Rescue (Part 1, spin-off to the Dirty/Dare Me series) is the newest release from Julie Leto. From the author’s website.~

OVERVIEW

As a former CIA operative, Sean Devlin has been trained to resist both capture and coercion, but he’s been out of the spy game a long time. When he’s shanghaied to a grimy underground warehouse and forced to endure weeks of relentless torture, he isn’t sure he’ll survive. His captors want the location of his ex-lover, but he refuses to give her up. How can he when the woman is dead–just like he’ll be if he doesn’t figure out a way to
 escape.

Security specialist, Brynn Blake, has no choice but retrieve Sean and spirit him away to a fortified safe house off the coast of Spain. Because Brynn has an unpaid debt to some very important people she has no choice but to risk her and her career for Sean, a man she’s never met. As he recovers from his injuries, she learns that there is more to the man than meets the eye. Not only is he hot, sexy and intriguing, but he possesses knowledge that could destroy her–knowledge he doesn’t even realize he has.

Sean and Brynn find themselves trapped by both desire and the spymasters calling the shots. But when the game takes an expected turn, Brynn is forced to make a choice: trust Sean or pay the ultimate price.

I’m a huge fan of Julie Leto and am so excited she has done a spine-off series with both the Dirty and Dare Me series of characters. Loved that we got to not only see Marisela, but learned more about her boss, Brynn in this book. Brynn is way more kick-ass than I thought she had the ability to be. Loved how protective she was of Sean from the very beginning, and thought their chemistry was strong from the very beginning. I love the suspense of this story as well as the budding romance between Brynn and Sean. While there is really only one true love scene in this book, I loved that it totally lasted over multiple chapters.

I’m already counting down the days until the next installment in this series. Dirty Dare: The Reveal is currently slated for release on July 1, 2013. For more information about the spin-off series or other books from Julie Leto, check out her website.

Dirty Little Christmas

Dirty Little Christmas is the newest novella release in the Marisela/Dirty series from USA Today and NYT bestselling author Julie Leto. From the author’s website.~

Marisela Morales has a secret...and after a year of successful missions as a security specialist, she knows how to keep one. But when a man on a mission to claim his birthright changes Marisela’s Christmas surprise into a treacherous game of cat and mouse, she’s forced to turn to the one partner who has never let her down—sexy Frankie Vega. Can they save an unborn child, caught in a deadly power-play...or will this holiday season end without a Christmas miracle?

Sex, lies and mistletoe...you can always count on Marisela Morales for a DIRTY LITTLE CHRISTMAS

I was lucky enough to be gifted a copy of Dirty Little Christmas from the author. I’m a huge fan of Julie Leto and promised to post an honest review.

I loved this sexy Christmas novella from Julie Leto!!! Her Marisela/Dirty series is one of my favorites ever and I was super excited to get a new book in the series.

The story is novella length, but is jam-packed with action, adventure and some super sexy times between Marisela and Frankie. This book is part of a series and while you can follow the story well without reading the other books, I think you get more out of the story knowing all the main character's background.

I’m hoping getting the Christmas novella means readers will get more Marisela books in the future. She is one of my favorite heroines ever! I love that she isn’t anywhere close to perfect and continues to make mistakes like the rest of us. I also love how she will do anything to protect her friends and family.

Dirty Little Christmas is Coming Soon

Dirty Little Christmas is coming soon from USA Today and NYT bestselling author Julie Leto. Dirty Little Christmas is Book Three in the Marisela/Dirty Series and is set for ebook release very soon. I can’t wait to spend more time with Marisela and am currently doing a re-read of book 1 (Dirty Little Secrets) and book 2 (Dirty Little Lies) to get ready. I also have to say I think the cover for this book is killer!!!

Julie was kind enough to send me the blurb for DIRTY LITTLE CHRISTMAS and I couldn’t wait to post about it on my blog.

The Guy Most Likely To...

The Guy Most Likely To…(Underneath It All\Can't Get You Out of My Head\A Moment Like This) includes novellas from Leslie Kelly, Janelle Denison, and Julie Leto  and is from the Harlequin Blaze line. From the back cover.~

Ever wonder what happened to the guy most likely to…

Score with the prom queen?

Lauren and Seth were the high school "it" couple—until Seth disappeared on prom night. But a reunion gives Seth a chance to show Lauren an evening long overdue.

Not date a Playboy Bunny?

Ali was the highlight of geeky Will's high school years. But now that he's ditched the nerdiness, he's 100 percent of calculated hotness…and Ali won't be able to say no.

Ride out of town on a Harley?

Rebel Scott "Rip" Ripley always had a thing for the elusive Erica. But reunion night holds a few sexy surprises when Erica decides it's time to take the bad boy for a ride.

I’m a huge fan of all three authors, so when I saw The Guy Most Likely To… available on NetGalley, I knew I had to read it ASAP.  I’ve already ordered my keeper shelf copy as well.

All three stories in The Guy Most Likely To… are fast reads. In fact, I read all 3 stories in just a couple of hours.  Really made me wish my 10-year high school reunion was even half as fun as the ones in each of these stories.

Each story centers around one couple who had something happen to keep them apart their senior year. I loved the couples in each of the stories. As I’ve come to expect from all three authors, each couple not only had great chemistry, but they were lots of fun together. There were plenty of sexy scenes in each story and I really loved watching couples who hadn’t seen each other in 10 years figure out they were just as attracted to one another as they were when they were in high school. While I loved Lauren and Seth and Rip and Erica, Ali and Will were my favorite couple. I’m a bit of a nerd, so I always love the nerdy guy.

The official release date for The Guy Most Likely To.. is June 26, 2012, with the digital release scheduled for July 1, 2012. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants a fast, fun, and sexy read.

Favorite Books read in 2011

I’ve read over 100 books this year and have found some amazing new-to-me authors this year. Many of the books on my list are by some of my must-read authors. About half of the books on the list are either from new-to-me authors or debut authors. I have to thank so many of my twitter peeps and blog friends for helping me find some of my new favorite books/series.

1. Serendipity by Carly Phillips is not only my favorite contemporary romance I read this year, but my favorite book I read all year. In fact, the entire Serendipity series might be my favorite series of books ever by Carly.
2. Cold Touch by Leslie Parrish is my favorite Leslie Parrish book ever. Might even be my favorite book written by Leslie as either Leslie Parrish or Leslie Kelly.

Too Wild to Hold and Too Wicked To Keep

Too Wild To Hold and Too Wicked To Keep are the 2nd and 3rd books in Julie Leto’s fabulous Legendary Lovers series. From the back covers.~

Too Wild to Hold

Hot nights in The Big Easy…
In the sultry heat of New Orleans, as masked man stalks his next prey…private investigator Claire LeCuyer. In order to protect her, FBI agent Michael Murrieta-the descendant of a real masked legend-must go undercover at her hiding place…as sensual retreat, where decadence and sin beckon from every room.

Once immersed in this world of pleasure, Claire and Michael find themselves teased by the languidly sexual environment-and their blazing attraction to each other. But even as they “mask” their true identities, it’s too late. Now Claire and Michael are caught up in the danger…and their desire. And the longer they stay in the sensuous world, the more dangerous it is!

Too Wicked to Keep

Revenge is a dish best served hot…

Can a bad boy change for the better? Thief Danny Burnett wonders if the heirloom ring in his possession-once owned by a legendary masked bandit-is as powerful as his brothers say it is. But when heiress Abby Albertini steps back into his life after five long years, Danny knows he’s about to find out…

Abby needs Danny’s help to retrieve something he stole from her. Besides her heart. But Abby’s not the naive girl she once was. She has a few naughty tricks up her sleeve. She’ll get Danny’s help, and teach him a lesson about payback that he won’t soon forget-one hot, wicked night at a time.

I really enjoyed both Too Wild To Hold and Too Wicked to Keep, but have to say Too Wicked to Keep is my favorite of the two books, actually the favorite of the series. Of course, since I wanted Danny’s book since we met him, I figured Too Wicked To Keep would be my favorite in the series.

Too Wild To Hold is Michael and Claire’s story. Michael was the toughest of the 3 brothers for me to connect with. I liked him, but he was more reserved than his brothers. Helps him to be an awesome FBI agent, but took a bit for me to connect with his character. I loved Claire from the moment she appeared on the page. She is a strong woman who is willing to do whatever it takes for her clients, even if that means signing on for a sensual weekend where she meets Michael. Michael shows up to keep Claire out of danger. Claire and Michael are attracted to one another from the moment they meet. They fight their attraction for a while, and when they finally do give into their passion, it is explosive. Of course, Claire is still in danger, and Michael will do anything to help keep her safe, even accept help from his brother, Danny.  Michael and Claire are good together both as a couple and as investigators.

Too Wicked To Keep is Danny and Abby’s story. I fell for Danny from the first time he appeared in Too Hot To Touch. Danny is such a scoundrel and yet there is something about him that just makes you want to give him a hug. Abby shows up in New Orleans to get Danny’s help in stealing back the painting he stole from her 5 years ago. Danny never really got over what he did to Abby 5 years ago. In fact, he has avoided all jobs in the Chicago area to insure he not see Abby again. However, Abby won’t take no for an answer this time. She knows Danny is the only man for this particular job. He knows the history of the painting, which would reflect negatively on her family if it is ever shown in public. Danny takes the job to help Abby out partially due to guilt, but mostly due to the fact he still has feelings for her.

Abby thought any attraction she had for Danny died 5 years ago when he used her to steal her painting. However, as she spends more time with Danny, Abby soon realizes she has never completely gotten past her attraction for him. Danny has never gotten over Abby in all the years they’ve been apart.  This time he is ready to keep his word, partially to show Abby he has changed, but mostly because he still loves her. Danny and Abby still have the same chemistry they had 5 years ago, only now there are no lies between them.
In the end, it turns out Danny can’t help Abby out without some outside help. For the first time in the series, we get to see Danny, Alex, and Michael all work together to fix the situation. One Murrieta man is good, so 3 are even better. I enjoyed watching Danny and his brothers. For 3 men who only met months ago, they really did act like they had been brothers for years. I loved the chemistry between the brothers every bit as much as I loved the chemistry between Danny and Abby.

I’m a huge fan of Julie Leto and have to say she gives her readers winners with her Legendary Lovers’ series. As all three books are from the Blaze line, at this point you will have to buy online to find this series in either print or digital. I know www.harlequin.com , www.amazon.com , and www.bn.com each should have copies still available.  I actually won the series from Julie on an auction from earlier this year. However, it didn’t keep me from ordering the books from www.amazon.com for my kindle.
