I've been a huge fan of Carly Phillips since I read my very first book by her years ago. She has always been an auto-buy author for me and I fall in love with each of her characters with every single book. I'm sad to see the Dare to Love series come to an end, but absolutely loved getting Tyler's book as the last one of the legitimate Dare siblings' books. I've wanted Tyler Dare's story for what seems like forever, and I was so happy to see Ella Shaw, his sister Avery's best friend would be his love interest.

I loved there was a history between Tyler and Ella. While they have been friends since they were kids, the one night Ella and Tyler spend together when she is 18 changes everything. Where there was friendship before, there is now distance, yet Tyler has no issues going to get Ella when she is stuck in St. Lucia during a hurricane after she is mugged. Yes his sister Avery asks him to go, and Tyler wasted no time rearranging his schedule to be there for Ella. Tyler has the same protective instincts as his brothers, and his have kicked into overdrive when it comes to Ella.

I loved the attraction between Tyler and Ella was so strong. Seriously loved them as a couple from their very first kiss. I also love the Ms. Phillips didn't push their past under the rug, but had them each remember that night together and have them talk about it to move forward in their relationship. Ella being concerned how Avery would react to them, as a possible couple was so perfect as well. Ella and Avery have such a special friendship, that I knew if Ella was happy with Tyler, then Avery would be happy for her, but based upon how Ella's family had always treated her, I understood her fears of possibly losing her best friend. 

I loved Tyler and Ella as a couple and especially loved how they got each other on every level. I think because they both had kind of been abandoned by their fathers, they each had trust issues, though Ella's were way bigger than Tyler's. I have to say, I loved that both Tyler and Ella both had the chance to confront their fathers in Dare to Take and both times had me crying just a bit, although with Tyler's dad they were tears of anger. I swear I find myself hating Robert Dare more with each book. 

I loved the fact we got to spend time with so many of the Dare siblings and their spouses in Dare to Take. I love getting to visit with some of my favorite characters while watching my new favorite couple fall in love. I'm sad to see the Dare to Love series come to an end for now. While I'm glad we now have all the legitimate Dare siblings' stories, I also can't wait to get the final half-sibling stories in the future.

Dare to Take pulled every single emotion from me as I read it. I love a story that has me feeling so many emotions, and Ms. Phillips did it with Dare to Take. While I'm a purest and read books in the order they are released, I think a reader could pick up Dare to Take and really love Tyler and Ella's story as a stand-alone read.

This series has been a journey. I've been privileged to be a spectator in seeing the Dare family rise from the ruins that is their father, and find their way in the world. Each book is an opportunity to fall a little more in love with all of them. Carly Phillips can make storytelling seem effortless. Though, the many hours of blood, sweat, and tears that goes into pulling all this together is incredible! Dare to Take is another layer to this incredibly talented authors writing!

Ella Shaw and Tyler Dare have history, and if you have read any of my reviews, you know that I love books where the characters have a past! This past encounter left them both with unresolved feelings. Fast forward several years later and we have the makings of a combustible reunion! 

Tyler insinuates himself into Ella's life when she's mugged and injured. This proves to be a huge problem for Ella, you know, being in love with him for all these years and such. Tyler never forgot their one night together and he has regrets that he wants to make right. And lawd, does he make them right...with his hands, his mouth, his umm, other parts! 

Ms. Phillips makes you care about these characters, she makes you love this family. And man, she makes you loathe the patriarch of the family, Robert Dare. She wrote such a perfect gentleman of a douche bag. Sure the father is all sophisticated and filthy rich, but he's a selfish prick under the nice suits. At times throughout the series, you get glimpses into Robert’s conscience, you think maybe he's going to try and be a better father, and then he pulls another stunt!

Both Ella and Tyler have issues with trust and commitment. They've been let down by important people in their lives and it has shaped how they treat and view relationships. There are so many facets to this couple. They were friends, barely tolerated acquaintances at get togethers, and now lovers. It was interesting to see them weave all these things into something that was beautiful. These two grew up a lot in this book. They learned to understand themselves so much better. There was a lot of self-reflecting going on, and perhaps, we could learn from this. Taking a step back and figuring out who we are and what we want in life is a good thing.

Of course you get plenty of page time with other key players in the Dare family. I love me some, Ian! He's had to fill the role of father for his siblings, and his ability to move past the anger his father incites is inspiring. I would recommend starting this series from the beginning. I know that may seem daunting, but trust me, it's worth the time and money. Each book builds on the family, and you wouldn't want to miss all the little nuisances that make them who they are. So, do yourself a favour and pick up this series!

The sun shone overhead, the temperature neared ninety, and the humidity was hair-curlingly high on the Caribbean island of St. Lucia, making it hard to believe a hurricane was coming soon. Ella Shaw glanced up at the blue sky, knowing it wouldn't remain pristine for long.

She pulled her hair into a high ponytail and headed out of her hotel, determined to hit the local gift shop she'd caught sight of on her way to the photo shoot yesterday. She'd seen long, draping, blue-beaded necklaces from the storefront window, but she hadn't had time to stop. Her boss was a stickler for getting the right shot in the exact light, and they'd worked well past dark. By the time they'd wrapped for the day, the store had been closed.
As an assistant for Angie Crighton, a fashion designer based in Miami, Ella was responsible for the little details involved in a photo shoot. And though Angie, the photographer, and models had left the island this morning, Ella had stayed to make sure the shooting site was clean, the hotel pleased enough to allow them back another time. And if she were honest with herself, she liked the downtime after the craziness of a photo shoot, the rushing around of the crew, the bossiness of some of the models and, of course, of Angie herself.
Ella appreciated the fact that she had time to souvenir shop for her best friend, Avery Dare. How ironic was it that the two girls from very different worlds had met at all? But they had. And it was Avery who'd introduced Ella to the finer things in life, leading her to seek out a job with an haute-couture designer. Whereas Avery came from a wealthy family, Ella had been raised firmly middle class, but the two girls had bonded instantly. They'd even shared an apartment until recently, when her best friend had moved in with her rock star boyfriend, Grey Kingston.
Yep, two different worlds, even now, Ella thought wryly. But their friendship was solid. Which reminded her, she needed to let Avery know she might not make it back to the States tomorrow as planned.
When Ella had heard about the storm changing course, she'd tried to book an earlier flight out, without success. She shivered at the possibility of being stranded here alone during a hurricane and knew Avery would like the news even less. Her best friend suffered from severe anxiety, and Ella didn't like to make her worry.
She'd just buy Avery an extra gift to make up for it, she thought, walking into the shop. She immediately headed to the turquoise-blue beads she'd seen through the window. The shopkeeper claimed they were Larimar beads. Even if they were fake, the beads, popular in the Caribbean, were said to have healing powers. Ella purchased two dozen, a mix of bracelets and necklaces, so she could share with the children at the cancer treatment center where she and Avery volunteered.
Avery had been nine, Ella ten years old when they'd met at a Miami hospital, both donating bone marrow, both there at the behest of a parent. Neither of them really understanding what was happening. All Ella had known was that she was doing a favor for her father, helping the stepmother Ella didn't like all that much to begin with. Even at a young age, Ella had been a good judge of character, a better one than her father, obviously, because shortly after Janice had gotten well, she'd left Ella's dad. And both her father and Ella's life had gone downhill from there. Ella shook off the thoughts of her past before she could go deeper and darker, and focused on the pretty jewelry.
She spent some time choosing a thick turquoise bracelet for Avery and a similar one for herself before paying for everything and waiting for the shopkeeper to wrap things up.
Bag in hand, she started back to the hotel, cutting through side streets and looking into the windows of the stores, soaking up the culture along the cobblestone streets before heading back to Miami tomorrow. At least, she still hoped she'd be home. Knowing she couldn't change the outcome, she pushed her worrisome thoughts aside. She'd deal with the situation as it came.
Sweat dampened her neck from the humidity of the island, and she contemplated taking a cab back to the hotel. She reached into her straw bag and pulled out her cell phone to make the call, when, without warning, she felt a hard jerk on her purse.
"What the—?" She spun around, but whomever wanted her purse was quicker.
She barely caught a glimpse of a tall guy with dark hair as he yanked harder, nearly pulling her shoulder out of its socket before slamming her against the nearby building with his other hand.
Her head hit the concrete wall, and spots immediately appeared behind her eyes from the impact. As she struggled not to pass out, the man grabbed her purse, along with her cell phone that had fallen to the ground.
She opened her mouth to scream, but nothing came out. Her legs collapsed beneath her, and she fell to the ground, her head smacking the sidewalk before everything went black.

I adore the Dare to Love series by Carly Phillips. Seriously don't want to do anything but read from the moment the book hits my kindle until I finish the last page every single time. Dare to Seduce was no different.

I've wanted Lucy Dare to get her story since we first met her in Dare to Surrender. She was so feisty and fun-loving, I couldn't wait to read her story. Imagine my surprise when we see Lucy again in Dare to Seduce and she was almost subdued rather than the vivacious person in the earlier books. I totally got Lucy and loved watching her turn back into the real Lucy Dare once she was back in New York and Max was back in her life.

I absolutely loved Max Savage from the moment we met him as well. I knew he was attracted to Lucy and totally understood his hesitancy based upon her brothers, not only being his best friends, but their protective nature when it came to Lucy. However, I knew Max and Lucy would be awesome together and I was so glad Max finally made his move. 

Max and Lucy have amazing chemistry and it only grew hotter as they spent more time together. I loved that Max totally understood Lucy's fear of losing people and got that was the reason she kept her distance from her family and picked men she couldn't love in the past. As Max had a few abandonment issues himself from childhood, he not only understood Lucy, but had experienced those same feelings. I loved that Max was willing to be patient and respectful with Lucy's issues, while still showing her how much he loved her. Add in the absolutely smoking hot sex between them, and Max and Lucy are one of my favorite couples in the series. 

Dare to Seduce is another winner in the Dare to Love series. While it can totally be read as a stand-alone story, I think readers will understand more of the family dynamics by reading Dare to Surrender and Dare to Submit first.

Sometimes when I pick up a book, I get a sense of coming home. Comfort and joy. When Dare to Seduce landed in my hands, all of those feelings came rushing forward. From the beginning of this series, I've been entranced by every word. 

Lucy and Max are cut from the same cloth. Both are struggling with their own perceptions of guilt and grief, for separate reasons. But one thing has never wavered, their burning love for each other. Though neither has any idea of how the other feels. I love a story that centres around childhood friends falling in love. The best friend of the older brother falling for the younger sister. It feels almost like a natural progression of falling in love. When things come to a point where Max is ready to make Lucy his, my heart flip flopped! He's tried to stay away. He even married another woman for all the wrong reasons. But his wife is gone and he's ready to give his heart to the woman it's always belonged to. Sweet Jesus, I fell so hard for Max. He's uber alpha and sex on a freakin' stick. Is it weird to lust after a fictional character? 

I'll admit, I struggled a bit with Lucy. I was frustrated with her, and since I'm protective of Max, I kinda wanted to shake some damn sense into her. I found Lucy wishy washy...hot and cold. I felt like, at times, that she had Max trailing behind her, begging for a morsel of affection and acceptance of the love that is clearly there. But this is what made the story so damn great! Carly Phillips needed to make Lucy this way. Lucy has been wearing her parents’ death on her sleeve for so long and the fear of losing someone else that she loves is palpable. It wouldn't have worked if she gave in so easily. Max is struggling with similar pains, but his way of finding peace is to embrace love, grab it by the balls and hold on for dear life. Lucy invoked strong feelings in me. There were times that I didn't like her much (that whole protectiveness thing for Max again) but I respected the hell out of her! When an author can make me feel so raw about a character, I know the story is something special. And hey, Lucy eventually loves up on my man Max, the way he deserves, so we made peace! I can't elaborate on all the little nuances of this beautiful story without giving everything away. Also, to truly feel Max and Lucy's journey, you need to be apart of it. Which means, you need coffee, chocolate, tissues, more chocolate, and then some pizza to shovel in your face to help soak up all the "feels" in your heart. Like, three slices minimum!

Max is panty wetting hot in the sack! Magical hands and enough dirty sweet nothings to make a girl swoon. And holy crap, Lucy swoons hard...multiple times, in various positions. I love when Carly gets all filthy and ramps up the heat in her writing! She can deliver a solid story, rip my soul to shreds, and then make my heart beat so loudly, it's like bloody ponies are galloping through my house!  Did I mention that Max knows his way around the lady bits? 

What can I say? Hmmm...buy this book! But do yourself a favour, start from the beginning of the series. This book can be read as a stand alone, but you'll be so happy that you visited with all the Dare men. Not even gonna lie...each and every damn one of em' makes for great fantasy material! The only thing left to say is that, Ms. Phillips left me a blabbering mess and I want you to go on the same journey with Max and Lucy!
