BEYOND SURRENDER (BEYOND #9)

She’s the heart of O’Kane liquor.

For years, Nessa has been focused on work. She keeps the whiskey—and the money—flowing, and life is sweet. Sure, she’s tired of being everyone’s baby sister, and she longs for a man who can stand up to her overprotective O’Kane brothers. But she never thought she’d meet him in the middle of a war.

He’s the brains of the revolution.

War is all Ryder knows. He was raised with one goal: to ensure the sectors’ successful rebellion against Eden. His father and his mentor both died for freedom, and nothing will stop him from securing their legacies with victory. He doesn’t have time for distractions—especially beautiful, impulsive ones like Nessa.

Opposites don’t just attract, they combust. Together, Nessa and Ryder have a chance for something more than the lives they’ve always known. But this is war—deadly, bloody war—and the only way to happily-ever-after is straight through Eden.

Liza’s Review:

I honestly wasn't sure to expect when I started reading Beyond Surrender. I knew this would be the final battle between the sectors and Eden and knew we would get a romance with Nessa and Ryder, but beyond that, I'm not sure I was ready for the roller coaster ride that was Beyond Surrender.

I honestly don't feel like I can say much without giving away the entire story. First I'll say I really loved that Nessa finally found a man who would stand up to her O'Kane family and really see her and love her. I really enjoyed watching their relationship grow into more as they prepared for war and even into the war. They had pretty amazing chemistry and as one would expect from an O'Kane book, smoking hot sex scenes.

I'm not going to lie to anyone. Have tissues ready when reading Beyond Surrender. I even tweeted the authors while reading I was made they made me cry so many times and so hard at least once. The war is brutal and I really didn't know if everyone I wanted to survive would survive. Even while I was bawling my eyes out and cursing the authors, I wouldn't change anything about the story or the outcome.

I honestly feel like Kit Rocha gave the fans of the Beyond series everything they could possible expect from the war between Eden and the sectors. Beyond Surrender totally and completely wrecked me many times as I read it, but there were also times I was laughing out loud and sighing in happiness. I can't wait to start the spin-off series of Gideon's Riders when it is released.

BEYOND ECSTASY (BEYOND #8)

The next-to-last book in the bestselling BEYOND series...

The O’Kanes have a reputation for working hard and playing harder—except for Hawk. He joined the gang with one goal: to ensure his family’s survival through the impending war with Eden. It’s been years since he had the luxury of wanting anything for himself. Now, he wants Jeni. From the first moment he saw her, he’s been obsessed with making her his. Not for a night—forever.

Jeni’s been lusting after the former smuggler for months, but he keeps shutting her down. She’s almost given up on getting him in her bed when he offers her the last thing she ever expected—a collar. Accepting it means belonging to him, body and soul. It’s a reckless gamble, but Jeni can’t resist the chance to slip under Hawk’s armor.

The only thing more shocking than the dark, dangerous pleasure they discover is how right it feels. But falling in love is even more reckless when forever is far from guaranteed. Because they aren’t just at war, they’re out of time—and every breath could be their last.

Beyond #8

I absolutely adore the Beyond series from Kit Rocha. Beyond Ecstasy is the 8th book in the Beyond series and this series really needs to be read in order as the world builds and changes with each new book. Beyond Ecstasy picks up right where Beyond Ruin left off.

Eden has lobbed the first shot in the upcoming war by cutting power to the sectors and keeping everyone on pins and needles as to when the war will actually begin. I loved that in the midst of what will be an all out war, the O'Kanes are still for the most part business as usual. I adored we got to see glimpses of all my favorite couples...groups while still getting a new story for Hawk and Jeni. I will say I felt because of the impending war, Hawk and Jeni jumped in way too fast to their relationship, without really understanding what the other really needed. I knew they would have trouble before it was all said and done, as I didn't totally see them on the same page. I will say when their issues came to a head; I was way more emotionally involved that I felt I would be. I liked Hawk and Jeni as a couple, but didn't feel I connected as well to them as I had to others in the past. I did love they are both such strong characters and found their chemistry was hot, and actually felt like it got much better once they were finally honest about everything with each other.

Beyond Ecstasy also gave me more insight into each of the other sectors and how the sectors would work together in the war against Eden. I seriously was on the edge of my seat reading with each new shot. While I hate to see the Beyond series end, I absolutely can't wait to read how the war will play out between Eden and all my favorite characters.

BEYOND RUIN (BEYOND #7)

Adrian Maddox fled his royal life—and tragic past—in Sector One, choosing instead to join up with the O’Kanes. For years, he’s lived by one rule: love fast, love hard, and always be willing to walk away. He’s managed to guard his heart, keep it whole and untouched—until now.

They couldn’t be more different—Dylan, the brilliant, burned-out doctor from Eden who drowns his pain with drugs and self-destruction. Scarlet, the sensuous, sexy rocker from Three, a woman unafraid to embrace the world. And Jade, the whore turned spy from Sector Two, who battled addiction and came out stronger than anyone he’s ever met.

Separately, they make Mad long to open his heart, to tumble head-first into a sea of possibilities and wild love. Together, they make him burn, inside and out, with lust and unbearable, unimaginable pleasure.

Then one fateful moment shakes their world to its foundations—and leaves the sectors on the verge of all-out war with Eden. It’s the biggest fight the O’Kanes have ever faced, and Mad and his lovers are at the dead center of it. They could end up with everything they never knew they wanted—or lose it all. Including their lives.

Liza’s Review:

First off we have the romances between Mad and Dylan (Doc) and Jade/Jyoti and Scarlet. I knew they would all end up together as the attraction between the 4 was obvious and the chemistry when they were near one another was smoking hot. I absolutely love that the author not only showed how this foursome could work as a family unit, but threw just about every single obstacle at them to make sure they were a strong enough unit to work.

The 2 couples separately were hot with their chosen partner, but when Mad, Dylan, Jade, and Scarlet came together, my kindle smoked as I read it. I'm in awe of the authors being able to keep up with body parts with this many people and totally make me feel each and every emotion the characters were feeling. I truly believe they are way stronger as a unit than they could ever be as individuals because of each individual in their unit.

The war with Eden has been coming and stayed in the background pretty much since Beyond Shame. With Beyond Ruin, everything changed and I'm so psyched to see where the sectors will take everything from here. As I love any time I get with Dallas and Lex in the books, I especially loved they are a main part of this storyline. I also love that Dallas knows his people and respects them enough to let them make their own choices as to where they want to be with the war coming. Have to say I almost cried when Dallas was offering people an out to see his reaction to the support given.

Beyond Ruin was another winner in the Beyond series from Kit Rocha. This series of book is like book-crack to me and I absolutely go without sleep to finish reading each book as quickly as possible when they are released.

BEYOND INNOCENCE (BEYOND SERIES #6)

For years, Jared has existed on the fringes of both Eden society and Dallas O'Kane's Sector Four gang. He travels between these worlds, protected by his money and power--money he earned selling his body, and power that comes from knowing secrets. He's untouchable—until he starts a new life gathering intelligence for the O'Kanes.

Lili Fleming walked out of Sector Five with a gun, the bloodstained clothes on her back, and an icy determination to survive. She finds herself in a world where people live hard and love harder, and nothing's more terrifying than how much the O'Kanes wake her up, make her feel—especially Jared.

Emotion is a risk he can't afford, and a complication she doesn't need. But neither can resist the lust simmering between them, and the sparks that could either melt the ice around both their hearts…or get them killed. Because the only thing more dangerous than loving an O'Kane is loving a spy.

Beyond Series #6

Liza's Review:

I'm a major fan of the Beyond Series from Kit Rocha. I was lucky enough to get a review copy from the authors and dropped everything to read Lili and Jared's story.

I'll be honest and say I questioned Lili and Jared as a couple when I first read Beyond Innocence would be their story. She was still heavily drugged to survive after leaving Sector Five and I just didn't know if Lili was strong enough to survive without the drugs. I should have trusted her character was stronger than everything I had seen and more importantly trusted the authors. I loved Lili and Jared as a couple. They have serious chemistry but more importantly they have total love, protectiveness, and respect.

I loved seeing Lili come out of her fog and become the woman she was always meant to be. She is seriously kick-ass strong on so many levels. Yes I think Jared's attention and love helped her begin to see her own strengths, but really felt like her friendship with Rachel helped her grow every bit as much.

Anyone who has read the Beyond Series before knows you are in for some super sexy times. I love this series because of the family that has developed from Sector Four and the relationships that grow stronger with each story. I have to say Beyond Innocence was probably the sexiest book in this series so far. I had to check with the authors to find out what term to use for the sexiest scene in the book and was given the name "O'Kanesome" and it fits perfectly. OMG was my kindle smoking so many times as I read Beyond Innocence.

The Beyond Series is one of my favorite series I've ever read. I countdown to the release of each new book and read each installment as fast as possible. I honestly feel that each book builds on the books in the series and feel like the books should be read in order to get the true feel for the series. That being said, I also think Beyond Innocence would totally hook you on the series.
