SETH GHOST OPS #3

Dead to their pasts. Ghosts. No family ties. No connections.

Six men with a top-secret mission move to a small town where they have to navigate local life, protect their secret, and, above all, stay single.

Software engineer Caroline Crowell is a dead woman walking. When the top-secret lab she’s working in goes up in flames and she barely makes it out alive, she knows her time is up. If she wants to stay alive and protect the only family she has left, she has to disappear.

But first she needs help. Someone to watch her back and make sure her enemy doesn’t get any closer while she plans her escape.

Seth “Phantom” King trusts no one but his team. He knows what people are capable of, and he knows how far a person can be pushed before they break. And what he sees when Callie shows up at One Shot Tactical looking for help is a woman about to reach the point of no return.

He doesn’t want to be drawn in by her fear, doesn’t want to believe she’s anything but a potential suspect in his mission. But his teammates have proven that you can’t stop feeling something for a woman even when you know you aren’t supposed to. Denying it only makes it worse.

When the danger Callie fears comes to town, Seth has a choice. Fight for the future he needs. For the woman he needs.

Or watch everything go up in smoke.

A Small Town, Enemies to Lovers, Military Protector Romance from Lynn Raye Harris.

I absolutely adored Seth and Callie's story. Two people who trust few others made for an interesting start to a relationship, but I loved their chemistry so much.

Lynn Raye Harris has a talent for writing stories that keep me on the edge of my seat, and Seth was no different. I love the Ghost Ops crew, and really loved getting to know more about Seth, who has always been a bit of a mystery as he is so quiet.

Jason Clarke and Angelina Rocca did an amazing job with the audiobook of Seth. They both did such a wonderful job keeping me totally pulled into the story. There were seamless transitions between the narrators as they brought the story to life.

I love the Ghost Ops series more and more with each new installment. I love falling in love with each of the guys as they each get their own story, and can't wait for the next book in the series!

Liza's Review:

Black Mail is the newest book in the Black's Bandits series from Lynn Raye Harris. This series of books is like catnip to me, and I was really excited to get Ty's book.

Cassie Dixon is Tyler's favorite cousin's best friend. When Kari gets him to check in on Cassie because she has been receiving threats and unwanted attention, and many of the threats have become violent, Ty does so to get his cousin off his back. Even though Ty and Cassie grew up in the same town, he didn't really remember much about Cassie and was blown away by her beauty upon seeing her again all these years later. Cassie had the biggest crush on Ty when they were in high school, but was so introverted she never would have acted on her attraction.

Cassie is an introvert and a plus-sized woman who really has only ever been talked down to not only from her mother, but by any of the men she has been involved with in the past. Ty is the perfect man to not only protect Cassie, but to help her realize the beautiful and sexy woman he sees when he looks at her. I loved that Ty was always encouraging Cassie, and helping to bolster her self esteem. The stalker messing with Cassie with threats and unwanted emails and gifts were so ugly and vicious, it broke my heart to see Cassie continue to be down on herself and even believe Ty could never really be interested in her because of her size. Words hurt, and the stalker after Cassie only wanted to belittle her and make her feel horrible about herself, and if Ty wasn't there, I honestly think Cassie would have eventually moved back into her introverted shell.

I loved Ty and Cassie as a couple. They had amazing chemistry together, and they had smoking hot smexy times once Cassie finally got out of her head. I also loved how much Ty and Cassie shared all they went through with their parents growing up. They both talked to each other about things they had never shared with anyone else, and it made me love them more and more as a couple. Yes their chemistry was amazing, but some of their talks and fixing meals together were some of the best parts of the book for me.

Ms. Harris kept me guessing about Cassie's stalker with Black Mail. I usually can figure out the bad guy before it is revealed, but was pretty shocked with this one. I love how all of the members of BDI are always there to help out their own, and Cassie became one of their own once they met her with Ty.

Black Mail was a wonderful addition to the Black's Bandits series of books. I didn't love how down Cassie was on herself when the book started, but I did love seeing her come out of her protective shell and show courage and strength as the story progressed. Tyler and Cassie's story only has me wanting even more time with the characters in the Black's Bandits series, and I can't wait to read the next installment.

Liza's Review:

With the exception of Mendez's book, which is pretty much my favorite book ever by Ms. Harris, I've wanted Ian Black's book more than any other book in any series by Lynn Raye Harris. All I can say is it was totally worth the wait!!!

Natasha Oliver, aka Calypso and Ian Black have been circling each other for years, and I knew once they finally got together, it would be magical and explosive. I loved every moment of this story. I know it was partly because I was so ready for this story, but honestly it was one that kept me totally engaged from page one. I loved Ian Black since he appeared on the page. He seems like such a bad boy, but the more time he's appeared in each story, the more I knew there was way more to his back story. Natasha is such an interesting character. As an assassin for the Syndicate, she has been a bad guy for much of the series, yet she seems to show up and save the day much like Ian Black. The chemistry between them has always be intense, but after they finally got together it was explosive it was so hot.

Readers were finally given the back stories for both Natasha and Ian, and all I can say is both were so heartbreaking, they brought me to tears. Honestly it only made me love each character even more than before. Black Heart was a book that pretty much kept me on the edge of my seat from page one. Ms. Harris delivered not only the book her readers have been waiting for, but she exceeded all expectations I had with this story. I fell in love with Ian and Natash as a couple, and loved getting to see them work together to make their life their own.

Liza's Review:

HOT Storm is the newest book from Lynn Raye Harris in her Hostile Operations Team - Strike Team 2 series. I adore this series of books, especially getting to see favorite characters in each new book. HOT Storm is Malcolm "Mal" McCoy's book, and I have to say I totally fell in love with Mal in this book.

Mal totally believes he is in love with his teammate's fiance, yet has a pretty strong connection to Scarlett Reed, his physical therapist from the moment they meet. Scarlett has moved away from all she has known because of her abusive ex-boyfriend, and isn't even going by her legal name. As her ex was military and in a special forces division, I worried she wouldn't give Mal a real chance when they first connected. I loved Mal seemed to help Scarlett come out of her shell a bit, and they had the best banter. I love a smoking hot connection between the main characters, but I also love when they can pick and joke around as well. Mal and Scarlett had it all...seriously smoking hot chemistry and all the jokes and laughter too. They gave me all the happy feels as a couple.

Scarlett's ex Josh was pure evil, and yet I knew he would show back up. I have to say I always hate the bad guy, but her ex took it to the next level. There was seriously no way Josh could ever be redeemed, and I was really hoping someone would put a bullet through is brain pretty much from the moment he appeared on the page. I loved how hard Mal and his team worked to find Scarlett and get her out of a horrific situation. Scarlett showed over and over again she was such a strong woman by not only surviving, but thriving after the hell Josh had put her through.

Lynn Raye Harris continues to pull me into her Hostile Operations Team world and keeps me wanting more. While there were parts of HOT Storm that were really difficult to read, I still adored this story. Ms. Harris is a master with her romantic suspense stories, and I can't wait to visit with all my favorite characters soon.

Liza’s Review:

Black Knight is the 4th in Black’s Bandits series from Lynn Raye Harris. Jared “Knight” Fraser is on his way to a little R&R when he finds Liberty “Libby” King outside his remote cabin injured with no memory of how she got there or even her name…thankfully she is wearing a necklace with Libby on it. When men with hunting dogs show up, Jared knows he has to help Libby figure out her past and keep her safe along the way.

I really enjoyed Jared’s and Libby’s story. I love a good amnesia story, and Libby’s was so well written. I loved she would remember new information about her past in her dreams at night. I really enjoyed Jared and Libby getting to know each other. I loved they had a pretty instant connection, and some smoking hot chemistry. Seriously Jared and Libby were such an amazing couple. I loved he supported Libby and had her back once her memory returned. I also loved every moment with Ian Black and the other members of the Black’s Bandits.

Lynn Raye Harris kept readers on the edge of their seats with the suspense and action, and the romance between Jared and Libby was absolutely perfect. I’ve fallen more in love with the Black’s Bandits with each new book, and absolutely can’t wait to finally get Ian Black’s book! Fans of romantic suspense will absolutely love Black Knight and be chomping at the bit for more book in this series.

Liza' Review:

I absolutely adore the Hostile Operations Team books and all the spinoff series of books by Lynn Raye Harris. John "Viper" Mendez remains my absolute favorite character in the series, with Ian Black as a close second, so when I saw Viper had a Christmas story this year, I was totally and completely over the moon. Seriously, Ms. Harris gave her readers the very best early Christmas present this year!

I loved every single moment of A HOT X-mas Miracle. As the story centers around Mendez and Cat and the pending birth of their new baby, I was so happy to get to revisit these characters and see where life had taken them since HOT VALOR. I also loved getting to spend time with all the HOT family members, and especially Ian Black. I feel like I'm spending time with friends when reading each new installment in this series. Ms. Harris totally delivered with a family Christmas story with a few surprises thrown in along the way. I can't wait to see what happens next with the Hostile Operations Team and their families in upcoming books.

Liza's Review:

With HOT SEAL Devotion readers finally get Kayla and Zack/Neo's story! I won't lie, I've been wanting this story since they first met and it was worth the wait.

Zack and Kayla had one night together and then she avoided him like the plague, which is pretty hard considering her sister is engaged to one of Zack's teammates, and they are all thrown together often. However, when Kayla's past comes back to haunt her, she knows Zack is the one man she can trust to protect not only herself, but her baby daughter Ana. Zack is all in on marrying Kayla and becoming a father to Ana, but won't agree to a marriage in name-only, and the sparks were strong from the very first.

The romance between Zack and Kayla is so strong in this story. I loved they both finally expressed their true feelings for one another. I also adored how quickly Zack took on the roll of dad to Ana. Kayla, Zack and Ana gave me all the happy feels as they became a family. I loved the chemistry between Kayla and Zack and fell in love with them as a couple.

Of course the reason Kayla asked Zack to marry her doesn't go away just because they got married. The Kings of Doom are back and want Kayla to pay for the money the MC lost when her ex was put in jail causing the club to disband. Everything having to do with the Kings of Doom was super intense and had me on the edge of my seat. Bring on the HOT team and Black's Bandits, who have learned to work together when needed. I absolutely adored the camaraderie between these groups. The members of the HOT teams are like family and that is just another reason these stories keep me coming back for more.

Lynn Raye Harris gives her readers another wonderful installment in the HOT SEAL series. HOT SEAL Devotion is a story full of emotions and action that will keep the reader engaged until the very last page.

Liza's Review:

I've come to love the Black's Bandits series every bit as much as the Hostile Operations Team series and the SEAL Team series of books from Lynn Raye Harris. I've wanted Colt and Angie to get together since we first met them and can only say it was totally worth the wait!

I loved Black Out from start to finish. I literally hated to put this book down as I was reading and really wished I could have read non-stop until I was finished. There has always been chemistry between Colt and Angie, and the fact their best friends Jace and Maddy are in a relationship, and keep throwing them together made me laugh out loud. I honestly loved the growth of Angie's character so much over this series. She really didn't seem that strong when we first met her in in Black List. I felt like she slowly was progressing to a strong woman, and she absolutely blew me away with her strength by the end of Black Out.

I have loved Colt from the first. Seriously the strong and yummy men Ian Black has working for him are just too Alpha for words...but in a really good way. Colt has the protective instinct I feel like all the men in these books have, and he wants to protect Angie from day one. I kinda loved the butted heads a bit in the beginning, but also loved Angie was stronger each passing day she spent with Colt. The chemistry between Colt and Angie built from the moment they met, and only got stronger after they made love for the first. Seriously all the happy sighs for this couple.

The suspense element was very strong in this story, and had a different feel from some of the other books in the series. It started from the very first page and I was pretty much on the edge of my seat trying to piece all the puzzle pieces together. I love when a book keeps me guessing, and Black Out did in spades. I also have to say I loved the time we got to spend with Ian Black. Seriously I'm counting down the minutes until we get his book! It's like I'm waiting for Mendez's book all over again (which was more than worth the wait)!!!

Black Out was definitely another winner from Lynn Raye Harris. Honestly, it is one of my favorite books I've ever read from her. I highly recommend this book and series to all fans of romantic suspense. I promise you won't be disappointed!

Liza's Review:

I have mad love for the Black's Bandits series after only 2 books. First of all we have time with Ian Black. Add in the fact that he has some of the best men working for him, and I'm all in with this book.

Tallie Grant is abducted while on a business trip in France and is put up for auction to the highest bidder. Brett Wheeler is working undercover to try and put the end to a human trafficking operation, when he sees Tallie and knows he has to save her...no matter the cost. I will be honest; I pretty much fell for Brett Wheeler right then and there.

While I hated the way Tallie and Brett met, I absolutely loved their journey together. Brett and Tallie absolutely seemed to get each other pretty much from the beginning. I knew they had each found their person pretty much from the beginning. The suspense elements in this book kept me on the edge of my seat pretty much until the end. I love a book that keeps me guessing when there are elements of suspense and Black Tie did that in spades. Add in the super hot chemistry between Tallie and Brett, and any time we get with Ian Black, and Black Tie was the total package.

Black Tie was like catnip to me. I love a good romantic suspense book, and Lynn Raye Harris does an amazing job each and every time. I highly recommend the Black Bandits series as well as the Hostile Operations series of books to anyone who love romantic suspense books.

Liza’s Review:

I read both the original release and the extended version of this story and I have to say my original review still rings very true. I do feel like the suspense elements were turned up a bit more in the extended version, but the romance for me stayed the main focus and I adored every single moment of reconnecting with Georgie and Sam.

I really loved both Georgie and Sam in this book. Sam has been fighting his attraction to his best friend's little sister since they were teens. It was totally worth the wait for them both when he finally gave in to their mutual attraction. Hot and sexy describes them as a couple. The fact they were on the run and Sam was protecting Georgie only made it hotter.

While still not as suspenseful as the first book in the series, I enjoyed the romance between Georgie and Sam being the focus of this story. There was more mystery and suspense in the extended version of the story, A very good addition to this series and a great fast read for anyone looking for a sexy romance. In fact re-reading Georgie and Sam’s story really only made me want to go back and reread the entire series of stories in the Hostile Operations Team series.

7 Brides for 7 Blackthornes #3
Contemporary romance
Review copy provided by publisher

Liza's Review:

Ross is the 3rd book in the 7 Brides for 7 Blackthornes series of books. A different author writes each of the 7 books, yet all are on the same timeline. Ross is by Lynn Raye Harris and I read it as a stand-alone initially, but do plan to go back and read the first 2 books in the series.

Ross Blackthorne is a gear head. He loves fast cars and is extremely blessed to come from money so he can feed his love of cars. While a member of the Blackthorne family, his love of cars has always superseded the family business of distilling bourbon. However, when he crashes his race car, his father demands Ross learn the family business at the Kentucky Blackthorne Distillery.

Holly Brooks has only ever wanted to work in the Bourbon industry and grew up working in her family's distillery until they had to sell their business following a fire. The Blackthorne family bought the location and allowed both Holly and her uncle to remain with the distillery. Holly is a master distiller and as the best at the Kentucky location, it is her job to teach Ross everything about the business from the ground up.

It was so much fun to watch Holly and Ross interact from the moment they met. Holly was bitter about having to take time out of her already insane schedule to teach Ross the ropes, and he was bitter because he wanted to be racing cars and was forced to learn the family business instead. I really felt like Ross was a bit more open and less hostile in the beginning and I loved that he was such an open and generous individual. He totally and completely melted my heart when he was letting kids sit in his fancy cars and talked to them and took pictures just to make them happy. I really felt like Holly started to thaw about Ross being there when she witnessed this happening over and over again.

I felt the chemistry and attraction between Holly and Ross from the beginning. I loved that Holly was so career minded and loved every moment of what she was doing at the distillery. You could feel her joy as she talked about the process and growing up in that area. Yes the attraction was always there, but I felt like Ross and Holly really became friends the more time they spent together and it was a natural progression to lovers. I get there could have been some sort of enemies to lovers description with this story, but I never really felt it, but did enjoy the progression of their relationship.

I broke one of my cardinal rules by reading the 3rd book in a series without reading the first 2 and while I think Ross and Holly's story read well as a stand alone, I do think I would understand more of the family dynamics and history if I had started with book 1. I plan to read all 7 books in the series as each of the authors contributing to this series are favorites of mine. With this being the first book I've read in the series, I was pulled into the family and want to know more.

HOT SEAL Team #7
Romantic suspense/Military Romance
Review copy provided by publisher

Liza's Review:

The HOT SEAL Team books along with the Hostile Operations Team original series of books are some of my favorite romantic suspense/military romances on the market today. Lynn Raye Harris pulls me in from the very first page with each new story, and I love we get updates of prior couples with each new book. HOT SEAL Hero is Ryan "Dirty Harry" Callahan's book and it was another winner in the series.

Chloe Cooper is such a strong woman. She is on the run from her abusive ex, and has moved across the country to start her life over. Lucky for her, when she goes to get her neighbor to move his truck, she meets Ryan Callahan in all his glory, and he immediately steps up to help when she needs it. I felt a connection between Ryan and Chloe from the moment they met. I love that Ryan was so protective of Chloe from day one and especially loved he let her set the pace of their relationship. There was some serious heat between them, yet a sweetness to their relationship as well and both aspects worked for me. I really felt like while they did rush into the physical aspect of their relationship at first, once they backed off a bit, I felt like their strong friendship made their romantic relationship even stronger.

Of course we all knew the dangerous ex would make an appearance again before the end, which gave us time with Mendez and Ian Black on page!!! My love for these 2 men is strong and I love seeing them interact with one another. I love when we get to see the Teams at work, and seeing Ryan and his team work together to find Chloe and bring her back had me on the edge of my seat. I loved it!!!

HOT SEAL Hero was a really wonderful story. Lynn Raye Harris is one of my go-to authors for romantic suspense, and she gave me all I was looking for and more with this story. Readers who love romance, action, and lots of sexy soldiers will love this latest installment in the HOT SEAL Team series.
