COMING BACK (INK & CHROME #3)

The men of Twisted Steel are great with their hands.

And they're not afraid to get dirty.

Mick Roberts, the newest partner at Twisted Steel's custom hotrod and motorcycle shop, looks like a man with everything. But secretly he still craves the connection he lost when his best friend Adam and the love of his life Jessilynn walked out. Then, he wasn't ready for the pleasure they promised. Now, things have changed.

Rich, powerful, and insatiable, Adam Gulati is used to getting what he wants. And there's nothing he wants more than Mick and Jessi. He hasn't seen either in over a year, but the second he sets eyes on them again his memories-and his desires-can't be denied.

After trying to live without them, Jessi Franklin realized no one else can satisfy her like Adam and Mick. The three of them need one another-in more ways than one. It's time to stop pretending and submit to the hunger they all share. But once they go down this road, there's no turning back. As deeply devoted as they are, no one knows what great bliss their forbidden fantasy will find-or the price they may pay . . .

Some stories stay with you for a brief moment. As soon as you close the book, you move onto something else. And then there's a story that just doesn't go away. When you're trying to go to sleep, you're thinking about the characters. You're wondering where their lives are going to take them now that they've found their happily ever after. And you're missing the connection you had with them. This is what happened to me after reading, Coming Back. Actually, this typically happens whenever I read anything by Lauren Dane.

The love story between Jessi, Mick, and Adam didn't happen overnight. These were childhood friends who forged such an unbreakable connection. Their path to finding the peace and comfort in their triad was full of heartache and uncertainty. It felt like such a privilege to be a witness to this love softly unfolding.

Mick is messed up. He's struggled with addiction and a very unhealthy dose of not feeling good enough, thanks to his self righteous, bible toting parents. They can't and won't accept that he's bisexual. And forget them ever being ok with him being apart of a permanent threesome with Jessi and Adam. All of that makes for a man who struggles to find his way.

These three people needed each other. It couldn't work if one walked away. I was in awe how each person was a connecting puzzle piece. They each brought something to the relationship that helped make it whole. I found myself captivated by their journey. I couldn't tear my eyes from the pages. I needed to watch the three of them stumble and fall, and then learn to rely on this special love to pick them up. And that happened a lot through this book.

I admire Jessi. She didn't let the men run roughshod over her. She's strong. She fought to be heard. But it was so beautiful to see her finally give some of the burden to someone else. Adam is uber alpha! Like, holy hotness alpha! But he wasn't a jerk. He took care of Mick and Jessi. I felt like he was sort of the glue. He kept everyone grounded and he did what he could to keep outside interferences out of their home and lives. Mick. Mick needed love so desperately. And acceptance for who he is. I was frustrated with his teenage like behaviour at times. But it was totally understandable at the same time. He was angry and so incredibly hurt by all the bullshit that his parents put him through. I think he deserved to have those moments. It just wasn't easy to witness at times.

Of course we get to visit with past characters from previous books in this story. I loved getting caught up with them and seeing what they were up to! That's one of my favourite things about series. It was heartwarming to see these secondary characters rally around the three. They provided Jessi, Mick, and Adam with the respect that their relationship deserved. They acted as a sort of shelter from the shit storm that is Mick's family. I can always expect that kind of loyalty from Lauren Danes heroes and heroines! She writes ferociously protective friends and family in all her books! They're like a village amongst themselves.

This book is deliciously raunchy. Heart stopping filthy...in all the sweet sweet ways! There's enough bed gymnastics in this book to keep you throughly involved! I mean, the writing is phenomenal, but the good lovin' is crazy sexy! Adam. Sweet baby Jesus, that man can command someone’s body with just a heated whisper! Woo wee, I all but drooled when his voice got all gravelly and Dom like! Sigh...he's my latest book boyfriend.

There are so many emotions in this book. It was often hard to read because my heart hurt so much for Mick. His family made his life hell and they withheld love from their son because of his sexuality. I can't even fathom that kind of devastation. Lauren wrote this with such truth and angst that it completely gripped my heart and I didn't want it to let go. The passion and love between the three is all consuming. We can only hope to find that kind of complete and whole feeling to fill our hearts.

This series is so many things. It's captivating. Its friends and family who will go to the wall for the ones they love. It's sexy and filled with rough around the edges men that make you want to tame them. And the writing is off the charts! I'm always astounded by the level of detail that Lauren Dane puts into her books. Every time I think that she can't possibly keep up this level of awesomeness, she does it again! Talented doesn't begin to describe this author’s abilities. You need this book, and the whole series in your life. It's a roller coaster of fiery heroines and the heroes who adore them.
