JUST A FLING COVER REVEAL

Just a Fling (A Driven by Fire Novella, 0.5), by Eden Rayna

Danielle doesn’t do love. She doesn’t do romance. She definitely doesn’t do meet-the-family. She will, however, do dancing and drinking and will absolutely do the tall drink of water fresh from the creek who has caught her eye at the club. After all, that’s exactly why she left her remote oil town for the weekend: to have enough core-clenching fun to get her through until her next days off.

Kirk’s farm boy charm goes a long way in a town that boasts twice as many guys as girls, but there’s only one woman in the club tonight he wants to impress. She says she’s game but it turns out she has a laundry list of rules to follow when hooking up. Good thing he grew up in a house full of brothers and a penchant for breaking rules.

Just a Flingis a standalone novella in the Driven by Fire series.

AT THE PLEASURE OF THE PRESIDENT PROMO TOUR

When a dangerous conspiracy threatens to tear them apart, he’ll have to choose between his country and the woman he loves…

Decades ago, ambitious Zack Hayes set his sights on the White House. He’s worked his whole life to become the leader of the free world—attending the right schools, marrying the perfect bride—all to aid his campaign. He didn’t realize someone behind the scenes has been pulling the strings to manipulate Zack and the country he loves into a dangerous position—one he will risk his life to wrench free from. The one thing he can’t risk is Elizabeth Matthews.

From the moment she met Zack Hayes, Liz felt the connection. Serving as his campaign manager and then his press secretary, she accepted that her love for him would remain unrequited. Still, she’d thought they were friends, so when he pushed her aside, she felt the stab in her heart. And when she realizes he’s done it to protect her, nothing will stop Liz from standing by his side—not even the men who would use her as a weapon against him.

As shocking secrets are revealed, Zack and Liz find succor and passion in each other’s arms. When the ultimate villain shows his face, Zack may have to choose between his country and the woman he loves…

Liz’s hands shook as she turned the lock, shutting herself alone in the library with Zack. This was likely the single stupidest thing she’d ever done, but after years of pining for and being in love with him, she couldn’t walk away without knowing how a night with him would feel.

She should be in her bed right now, trying to find sleep. But she’d seen the light on and known he’d be here. Like a freaking moth to a flame, she’d found herself leaving the safety of her bedroom and walking right into the predator’s den.

Trembling, she turned now and looked at the only man she’d ever truly loved. He needed her tonight. She saw it in his stare, in the way he clenched his fists at his sides. How much character and willpower had it taken him to allow her this choice? She admired him even more for finding the strength, especially since she’d long suspected that under his façade of intellectualism and perfect manners, he hid a beast.

Tonight, she would find out if she’d been right.

Liz had no illusions. He was capable of breaking her heart into a million pieces, and she’d try not to let him. But even if she only got one night with this man, she would take it because she would rather live with foolish regret than stubborn ignorance.

“Elizabeth.”

His voice hummed in the quiet room, caressing between her ears, vibrating through her body. She flushed with arousal.

This was it. This was happening.

She’d wanted him the moment they’d met, but he’d been forbidden. Now, he stood in front of her with his broad shoulders and his dark hair. Not a president, but a man. Herman—at least for the night.

Liz tried to steady her breathing as she crossed the room to him. Finally, she had permission to touch him the way she’d always wanted. Of course she’d heard him say tonight would be his way all the way, that it wouldn’t be tender, but she wanted one sweet moment she could cling to later before her man turned beast.

She stopped in front of him and reached up, brushing her fingers against the sliver threaded at his temples—the only sign that he was aging. Naturally, it made him even more attractive.

He caught her hand, clasping it in his big one. “Be sure.”

That was Zack, always putting others first, even when his whole world was falling apart. Even when he needed so desperately for himself.

Tonight, she was here for him in every way. Liz hoped with all her heart he understood that.

She would cling to him through the bittersweet hours until dawn, memorizing every touch. Tomorrow they would go back to their corners, and the turmoil would start again. It would be worse because she would know exactly how good it felt to be in his arms. But their passion could only be temporary because he was right, any chance they’d had at a future had died the day Joy had. After her murder and three long years, how could they ever hope for more?

“I’m sure,” she murmured. “I want everything you have to give me tonight.”

Liza's Review:

Connor Montgomery and Faith Holt have been best friends their entire lives. I love the friends-to-lovers troupe like nobody's business and and think Ms. Valentine did a great job with it in Seducing the Billionaire's Brother.

Connor Montgomery has never really dated anyone seriously and has known no matter what scrapes he got himself into, his best friend Faith Holt would be sent to bail him out. I honestly felt like she was really his person to use a quote from Grey's Anatomy. He honestly loved her above all others. I loved that he wanted to give Faith everything she could ever want or need, yet she only allowed him to give her birthday or graduation gifts.

Faith Holt comes from a modest background mostly because of her father's gambling habit. Faith has worked hard her entire life and is now a Corporate Librarian for Montgomery Industry and is completely off limits to Connor. While Faith has been in love with Connor her entire life, she has always stayed in the friend-zone and made sure she took care of him when he needed help...even when his family wouldn't step in.

When Faith is in danger thanks to her father's gambling addiction, only Connor is there to help. I loved he would go to the ends of the earth to do anything to protect Faith. I will say the only part of the book I had an issue with was Connor's brother Andrew. I really thought he had mellowed out after marrying the love of his life, yet he was horrible to both Connor and Faith much of the time. I don't know if Andrew being a pill was on purpose or not, but it finally pushed both Connor and Faith to do something drastic with their relationship and I will say I was happy he helped in that way. Faith and Connor really were just the perfect couple. Seriously they both knew everything possible about the other and nothing from the past bothered them. Faith and Connor truly loved one another and OMG they had the best chemistry. I had a few happy tears once they finally not only ended up together but shared how they each really felt.

Seducing the Billionaire's Brother was a wonderful addition to this series. Fans of contemporary romance will adore the chemistry, banter and love between Faith and Connor. I know those romance readers who have been reading Marquita Valentine for any length of time will feel like they are coming home to a comfy, sexy, and fun read.

Nikki's Review:

Getting an ARC of this long awaited book was like Christmas, my birthday, and Mother’s Day all rolled into one! The end of book 4 left me salivating for this one. I mean, I was going to get all the answers to my many MANY questions. I have spent the entire series being somewhat of a amateur sleuth. I was constantly trying to fit all the puzzles pieces together. And let me tell you, I was so wrong about the bad guy! I NEVER suspected who the evil players/conspirators were. I was gobsmacked and amazed!

I can’t give too much away in this review. I don’t want to ruin anything for the readers. This is something that has been hard for every review I wrote for this series. I wanna scream about all the amazing parts but without divulging anything important...and everything is important.

We finally get to see Zach and Liz get their HEA. But holy hell, it was a bumpy road getting there. Zach is the more reserved of this wild band of mischievous men, but he is crazy filthy in the bedroom...yum!

There’s this thing that is so utterly incredible in this book, but guess what? I can’t tell you! You’ll have to read it for yourself. Of course you’ll have to read the whole series to fully appreciate just how amaze balls this thing really is.

I really think Zach and Liz were perfect for each other. She kept him from seeming too robotic and emotionless. Her sassy but sensible personality smoothed out his edges. Zach does some pretty crummy stuff, but I love when the hero has to grovel! And grovel he does.

As always with Lexi and Shayla, the writing in this novel was magnificent. The plot was explosive and fast paced! These two authors create magic on their own, but when they write something together, it takes magic to a whole other level!

This book can not be read as a stand alone. You need to read the series from the start or you’ll be incredibly lost. Run and start this series NOW!

BLUE RELEASE POST

Title: Blue

Series: A Savages in Ruin Novel

Author: Jane Anthony

Genre: Rockstar Romance

Release Date: April 5, 2019

They say a single moment can change the course of your life.

Mine wasn't a moment, but a man.

We were wrong for each other in every way, yet it didn’t stop me from wanting him. The broody, arrogant rock star on the verge of self-destruction. His touch was electric, his wounded gaze burning me from the inside out.

He was perfectly imperfect.

Irresistibly tortured.

Utterly broken. Almost as broken as me.

Our jagged edges aligned so seamlessly even I believed we might have healed each other.

I couldn’t have been more wrong.

Nikki's Review:

Where to start? I’m not gonna lie, this book had me confused and even lost for many parts of it. I’m finding it difficult to write the review because I’m STILL a little stumped. This book seems to have taken place somewhere between life and death. Some kind of afterlife. Or a crazy ass dream. I’m not sure. I was questioning myself every time I thought I had it figured out. But let’s move on from that because I’m getting flustered all over again.

I really enjoyed the emotion in this book. It was raw and really heavy. Those are two things I love in a romance. This book is definitely not “light and fluffy fun”. Which is good, because I like the darker stuff. Be forewarned though, there could be some major triggers for people. This book talks about suicide, mental illness, and death...a lot. In fact, the hero considers dying by suicide. He’s miserable and lost in the bottom of a vodka bottle.

There was a real connection between the hero and heroine. I was anxious for the story to keep unfolding. It was like peeling back the layers of an onion. There were so many layers to these characters. Part of that was the baggage they each carried. I could almost feel it like a tangible thing.

I’m still thinking about this book a week later. I’m still trying to figure some of it out, but the writing was wonderful. I really felt like I went on a journey with these characters. This is the first book in a new series, and I’m anxious to see where the other stories will take me.
