Bad Things
Always Come In Threes…
As a thief,
I'm good at three things: hiding in the shadows, getting in and out unseen, and
uncovering secrets. I put these skills to work for the Sinclair Family, one of
the magical mobs that run the tourist town of Cloudburst Falls.
Everyone
knows Victor Draconi wants to take over all the other Families--and kill every
last Sinclair. What they don't know is that I'm on to him, and no way will I
let the man who murdered my mom get away with hurting all the other people I
care about. Especially when I've got places to break into, stuff to steal, and
Devon Sinclair fighting right by my side…

Liza's Review:
I've really loved the Black Blade series from the very first
book. Lila Merriweather (Sterling) is one of the best characters ever from
Jennifer Estep and I was absolutely over the moon to read the final book in the
Black Blade series, even as I didn't want it to end.
Lila Merriweather (Sterling) has really grown so much over
the course of the series. She started out as a thief and a loner,
really only watching out for herself and Mo, but now she is a full-fledged
member of the Sinclair Family and has friends and family to protect. She is
still a thief, but now she is using those skills to make sure the Sinclair
Family and everyone else in Cloudburst Falls is protected from
Victor Draconi. Lila basically has been waiting for the battle with Victor
since he killer her mom. I love how she has made lasting friendships with
Felix and Deah and has a boyfriend with Devon.
I feel like we've always known from the very first
book that Lila would be the one to be the major participant in
the battle between Victor and the other families. I love that Claudia
Sinclair not only understood Lila, and accepted her need to be the person to
battle Victor in the duel slated between Victor and Claudia. I expected an epic
battle for the battle between the families and Ms. Estep totally
delivered. I've come to expect pretty great fight scenes from her and she
didn't not disappoint with the final battle. With the amount of magic
Victor possessed, I was worried how Lila could pull off a win, but
loved her inner talents and messages from her Aunt Seleste and her dreams of
her mom helped her instinctively know what to do.
Bright
Blaze of Magic wrapped up the Black Blade series perfectly. I loved
the path the characters traveled to get to the final battle and loved even more
there was a small opening for the possibility of a return to
Cloudburst Falls. The Black Blade series is a YA Urban Fantasy series, and
I highly recommend this series to anyone who enjoys the Urban Fantasy
genre.
