Liza's Review:
When You Kiss Me is the latest release in the Maine Sullivans series from Bella Andre. The Sullivan family absolutely is one of my favorite series of characters ever, and I love there are so many branches of this family tree. When You Kiss Me is Lola Sullivan's story, and I absolutely couldn't put this book down!
Lola Sullivan is a beautiful voluptuous woman. Most men have only looked at her and seen what she looked like without ever caring to learn more. As this has happened to her most of her life, she is very careful around men and very slow to trust anything at face value. Duncan Lyman has his own trust issues thanks to his older brother, and is still working on righting the wrongs his brother did 5 years ago. When he meets Lola, he is absolutely drawn to her, and that Duncan saw Lola's inner beauty shining through. I loved neither could really take their eyes off the other and they didn't want to be apart from one another long.
I knew Duncan delaying telling Lola about his past with his brother could come back to bite him in the ass, just not quite in the way that it did. I also understood how hurt, upset, and angry Lola was, especially as she shared things from her past she hadn't even shared with her sisters. Lola had been burned in the past, and I hated she felt doubts about her instincts. Lola is such a passionate woman, and I loved even in her anger, she started seeing things didn't add up as they should for Duncan to be the bad guy.
Something that runs pretty true for many of the Sullivan offspring is knowing almost from the moment they meet "the one" they have meet their other half. Lola and Duncan connected from the moment they first saw each other, and I absolutely felt a happy sigh when they both struggled to stop staring. Add in their smoking hot chemistry, while trying to wait a bit to make love, and I was hooked on them as a couple, even when things looked bleak. I have mad love for Lola and Duncan as a couple.
Bella Andre has once again given me a beautiful, sexy, and emotional romance right when I needed it. Between all the various branches of the Sullivan family, this is the 21st book in the series, and they continue to entertain and keep me coming back for more with each new installment.
