In heartache, we’re never truly alone.

But even as I stand in front of thousands of screaming fans, I feel isolated.

With a multi-million-dollar recording contract, a sold-out world tour, and more money in the bank than

I ever imagined, this life is a dream come true.

I should be on top of the world.

Except there’s always a flip side.

Every time I hit a milestone in my career, my personal life suffers.

First Top 40 hit at age seventeen? My first tabloid breakup scandal quickly followed.

Earned my first Grammy? Discovered Mommy Dearest was embezzling my money.

Landed a leading role in a movie? My fiancé called off our engagement the next day.

I thought Kane would be different.

I thought he’d be the one man to stand by my side, undaunted by the fame and attention that trails

me.

Yet here I am, attempting to piece together a heart he’s shattered into a multitude of tiny fragments.

I’ve practically bled out my emotions and let them puddle to form lyrics from deep within me. At least

in music, my fans always relate to the songs written from my soul’s breath.

But without him, every whispered syllable takes another piece of my heart. And soon, I’ll have

nothing left at all.

A stand-alone, contemporary romance.

Gideon Jones came back from war a changed man. Though the Maverick Billionaires claim he’s one of their own, he knows he doesn't deserve to be part of their tightly knit unit. When Rosie and Gideon agree to take care of Matt and Ari’s son, Noah, while the couple is on their honeymoon, they have no idea of the havoc two matchmaking little boys can create. Not to mention the steamy kisses that Rosie and Gideon can’t help but steal from each other as their connection deepens and grows. Liza's Review:

Bella Andre and Jennifer Skully have done it once again with Captivating in Love. I absolutely love the Maverick Billionaires series of books and am so happy to see the Maverick family extend to friends and family members.

I knew when we first met Ari's brother Gideon I wanted to know more about him and couldn't wait to get his book. I couldn't have picked a better heroine for him than Rosie Diaz. Single mom to Jorge and foster sister to Ari, Rosie is such a strong woman. She has wanted Gideon from the moment she set eyes on him, and seems to understand him in a way that I felt surprised Gideon from the beginning. Gideon is extremely standoffish, yet when he is with his nephew Noah and Rosie's son Jorge, you could see glimpses of the real Gideon.

I loved Gideon and Rosie as a couple. They both had things from their pasts that gave them each pause when looking to the future. Rosie was a teenage single mom, whose ex dumped her and ran when she got pregnant and Gideon is still dealing with guilt from losing track of Ari after joining the Army to help support her and their mom, as well as PSTD from serving. I loved how Rosie just got Gideon and without realizing, Gideon became so very protective of Rosie and Jorge. Their chemistry was amazing and I had all the happy sighs seeming them together.

I also loved Jorge and Noah being front and center in this story. Those two boys were so adorable and their excitement and happiness literally leaped off of the pages. I found myself absolutely laughing out loud at their actions. I felt like they both helped Gideon come out of his shell right along with Rosie.

Captivating in Love was such an amazing story and I can't wait to read more books in this series. I highly recommend this story to fans of romances filled with love, friendship, laughter, and family...the one you were born from or made yourself.

Liza's review:

Vendetta in Death is the 49th book in the In Death series from JD Robb and I'm every bit as invested in this series today as I was the very first time I read Naked in Death.

Honestly I loved ever moment of Vendetta in Death. I love I can get my Dallas and Roarke fix every 6 months and I literally go without sleep to read each new installment as quickly as possible. I will say I figured out who Lady Justice was extremely early in this book, but that didn't lessen my enjoyment of the story. I love to see how Eve's mind works as she figures out who the killer is in each new story.  I was totally in sync with Eve on figuring who did it before knowing all the reasoning behind everything.

One of my favorite things about this series is how many friendships Eve has developed over the course of the 49 books. Vendetta in Death we got to see Eve work with Peabody and the rest of the crew, and little updates about the other detectives, which I always love. Mira helping with the profiling, and making sure Eve was handling this case since it dealt with men who both sexual and physically abused women. I love the deep relationship Eve and Mira have now. Special time with Mavis and Bella, and working once again with Nadine gave me happy sighs. Of course, Roarke and Eve working together and being together always is my favorite part of any In Death book.

I know it sounds a bit crazy, but Vendetta in Death gave me so many happy feels. Yes there were brutal murders in the story, but the mystery was solid and the characters remain as engaging as ever. The In Death series of books remains one of my absolute favorites, and Ms. Robb gave her readers a fabulous story with Vendetta in Death.

Liza's Review:

One Summer Weekend is the first story in the new Cedar Street series from Shannon Stacey.  I love a friends-to-lovers troupe like crazy so One Summer Weekend is like book crack to me.

Noah and Carly have been best friends pretty much since they each can remember. In the words of so many characters from Grey's Anatomy, they are each other's person. However, Noah now needs Carly to pose as his pretend girlfriend for his boss's destination wedding, as Noah has told him they have been dating for 6 months.

I loved both Noah and Carly and found them each to be smart and funny. I loved they had been best friends forever, but could totally tell they would both fall fast and hard once they moved beyond friendship. As this was a novella length story, the pacing was pretty fast for them to move from friends only to lovers, yet it worked for me. I could feel the love they felt for one another from the beginning, even when they each felt it was only friendship. They had great chemistry and it really burned hotter the more time they were at Cape Cod...their idea of what happens at the Cape stays at the Cape had me cracking up laughing and feeling all the happy sighs the more they were together.

One Summer Weekend was a fast, fun, and easy read. It is a novella length story, so everything moves pretty fast, and it works well. I loved the characters and seeing them move from friends to lovers. I can't wait to hopefully see more of these characters in future books in this series. Shannon Stacey has been an auto-buy author for me since I read her very first book and One Summer Weekend only made me want more stories from her.

Liza's Review:

Roxanne St. Claire has totally made me fall in love with her latest hero in book 5 of the 7 Brides for 7 Blackthornes series. Brock David Blackthorne had me falling for him pretty much from the first page of this story...and I wasn't alone based upon the chemistry between Brock and Jenna Gillespie.

Brock and Jenna have an interesting first meeting thanks to a crazy thunderstorm that starts when them sharing a cab and ends with them spending the night together. Brock is super protective of his family, so when he discovers Jenna wants to write a tell-all book that will delve into the family, the business, and rumors about a long ago stolen whisky recipe, he agrees to be her contact with the family. The fact that they both are insanely attracted to one another made their choice of business only working relationship so fun; especially as their chemistry only grew stronger the more time they spent together.

The mystery of the possible stolen whisky recipe kept me on the edge of my seat through much of the book. I love how well Jenna and Brock worked together and I especially loved how sweet Brock's grandmother was with Jenna. I loved these two characters so much and really felt like they were perfect for one another. They each had a childhood trauma and it seemed just talking with one another helped them each find a way to healing said trauma.

I've jumped around in my reading of the books in this series so far, so I can attest that each of the stories can be read as a stand-alone story. However, I also have already pre-ordered or purchased any of the books currently out as I want to know everything about this family.  Roxanne St. Claire has written a beautiful story centering on family, love, laughter, and mystery that had so much heart I didn't want it to end.
