By Carly Phillips
Release Date: July 7th, 2020
Her twin sister is missing.
When
Ariana Costas heard her twin sister, Zoe, had disappeared, Ari left Vermont and
returned to her Jersey girl roots to find her. Ari didn’t know what to expect
from her search, but danger around every corner, dodging bullets, and a hunk in
a leather jacket saving her was not it.
He thought she was someone else.
Detective
Quinn Donovan thought he located Zoe Costas. Beautiful, dark-haired, and a
perfect match to the description he’d been given, he believes he has his lady.
Except as it turns out, the gorgeous woman is Zoe's twin Ariana, the college
professor. Suddenly, Quinn’s job is more about trying to protect Ari who is in
trouble deeper than the Atlantic at high tide. There’s more at stake than
trying to protect her without spilling his well-guarded secrets.
Will he lose his heart and the girl in the process?

Liza's Review:
Under the Boardwalk is the first book in
the Costas Sisters series from Carly Phillips. When Ariana Costas is told her
twin sister Zoe has disappeared, she knows she must head home to find out more.
Quinn Donovan works for the same casino
Zoe worked at before she disappeared and when he first sees Ariana on the
beach, he mistakes her got Zoe at first. Believing she will let the
professionals investigate and look for Zoe, he is shocked when she shows up for
a job at Damon’s do she can investigate on her own.
I adored Quinn and Ari together. They
worked well together and they had the best chemistry between them. All the
smolder between them and I had all the happy feels for them as a couple.
Under the Boardwalk is a super emotional
story, as Ariana really has to re-examine her past and the way she viewed her
family and how she related to her family. As the family makes changes so they
can become foster parents to Sam, Ari starts to see her family in such a
different light. My heart broke for Ari as she realized all her assumptions
were so wrong, and how much she had missed by distancing herself from her
family...and especially her twin.
I loved the bit of mystery surrounding
Zoe. Quinn and Ari working together allowed them to spend time together and
learn so much about one another faster.
The Costas family is laugh out loud
funny, and I adored each member of the family. I especially loved they loved
and accepted their family and friends so quickly.
Under the Boardwalk was a funny and
emotional story, and it stands the test of time. This is a reissued story from
Carly Phillips and I loved it every bit as much now as I did when I first read
this story when it was originally published.
