Happy St.
Patrick’s Day!!!
Hi everyone!
I’m Gavin McLeod, Robby Black and I are holding down the fort at the Blackout Bar
and Grill today while Sunny hangs out at A Buckeye Girl Reads--probably telling
lots of secrets, and Alannah Lynne hangs out at Penumbra. (Be sure and stop by both of
those locations, because they have giveaways over there too!)
You’re the
lucky ones, though… you get me! *laughs*
Actually, you’re
lucky because this is where the party is!! We’ve gone all out for this St.
Patrick’s Day celebration, so let’s get the party started!!
We’ve
decorated the bar with special green lights…
Sunny
painted a sign to hang on the front door…
She’s also spent
the past two weeks working on new drink recipes just for today, and before she
left, she gave Robby and me precise
instructions on how to make them.
She also
left this hand-painted card attached to the bathroom mirror.
Is it any
wonder why I love that woman to death?! But, I digress… let’s get back to the
best part of the day… the food and drink!!
While Sunny
was working on her special drinks recipes, like this one called Pot ‘o Gold.
Prep Time: 3 minutes
Total Time: 3 minutes
Yield: 1 Cocktail
Ingredients:
- 2 oz Voli Lyte Vodka
- 1/2 oz Elderflower syrup or liqueur
- 8 fresh mint leaves
- Mint and cucumber for garnish
Preparation:
- Muddle cucumber and mint. Add Voli and elderflower.
- Garnish with cucumber wheel and mint.
I’ve been
working on the menu!! The beef for the corned beef and cabbage has been brining
for 10 days and is perfect at this point!! I’ve also put together an awesome
Guinness stew, which will be served with authentic colcannon and green beans!
