SOMETIMES
WRONG IS OH-SO-RIGHT
After a
wrenching loss, Ben McDaniel tried to escape his grief by working in dangerous,
war-torn places like Africa and the Middle East. Now he's back in his hometown
and face-to-face with Aubrey Wellington, the hot-as-hell woman who is trouble
with a capital T. Family and friends insist she's not the one to ease his pain,
but Aubrey sparks an intense desire that gives Ben hope for the future.
Determined
to right the wrongs of her past, Aubrey is working hard to make amends. But by
far, the toughest challenge to her plan is sexy, brooding Ben - even though he
has absolutely no idea what she's done . . .
Can this
unlikely couple defy the odds and win over the little town of Lucky Harbor?
Lucky Harbor #9 Grand Central Publishing February 18, 2014
I was lucky enough to get a review copy from the publisher
through NetGalley. I'm a huge fan of Jill Shalvis and love her Lucky Harbor
series so much.
I've really liked Aubrey since she made friends with Ali and
Leah. I knew there was more to her that what we had seen, and was excited to
get to know more about her. Aubrey has decided early in this book to try
and right as many wrongs as possible from her past. She really was a bit of a
mean-girl growing up, and now wants to make amends.
Ben is one of my favorite heroes ever from Jill Shalvis. I loved
him so much and really loved how he did anything in his power to spend time
with Aubrey. Ben and Aubrey had amazing chemistry from the moment they started
spending time together. Even as all of Ben's friends and family are telling him
to stay away from Aubrey, Ben can't seem to stay away from her. Ben also knows
he is on Aubrey's list of people to make amends with, even as she tells him he
isn't. The more time Ben and Aubrey spent together, the more I wanted them to
make it as a couple. The sexual tension was off the charts between them and it
grew stronger as the book progressed.
I only had one problem with Ben really. He seemed to flip-flop a
bit too much with his feelings for Aubrey. He could be so sweet one moment and
distant the next. I did love how sweet he was with the twin little girls
he discovered were in foster care in Lucky Harbor. He was so protective of them
and the reader saw the softer side of Ben.
I especially loved Lucille's role in this book. Her humor and
love for everyone in Lucky Harbor always adds so much to each story. Lucille
always seems to be the voice of reason to the couples in Lucky Harbor. She also
cracks me up in every single book. I laughed so hard at Lucille getting put into
Facebook jail for posting pictures of sexy men.
The Lucky Harbor series is one of my favorites from Jill
Shalvis. I'm super excited to find out we will get 3 more books in the Lucky
Harbor series in the future.
