Into the Flame by Christina Dodd is the final book in her Darkness Chosen series. From the back cover- Ruggedly handsome cop Doug Black is determined to find the birth family who left him with nothing but a terrifying inheritance: the ability to change into a savage golden cougar. His search leads him to a woman as fearless and exotic as her name. Firebird Wilder is bitterly familiar with supernatural gifts, and flees on discovering Doug's secret, leaving him alone once more. But no one can escape a wild cougar on the hunt. When he finds her, they must decide which is more powerful: the love that binds them or the secrets that threaten to tear them apart.
Firebird Wilder and Doug Black keep many secrets from each other. Her biggest secret is their son Aleksandr, his is he has figured out he is a member of the Varinskis clan. Both must learn to trust one another again to survive the upcoming attack from the Varinskis. The war between the US Varinskis, now Wilder's and the Varinskis from Europe will be a winner take all death match. Firebird and Doug also learn something unexpected about their births, that gives Doug the family he always wanted,
Dodd gives readers another action-packed story filled with romance, mystery, and a few twist and turns. I enjoyed this series and look forward to more books by Dodd in the future.

I still think of Christina Dodd as a historical author. But it sounds like she's doing great with the dark contemporaries.
I love her dark contemporaries and her light contemporaries, but have never tried any of her historicals. Will have to look into those in the future, if my tbr pile ever gets under control.
