BLOG TOUR: FORGET ABOUT ME

Forget About Me, an all-new retro romantic comedy guaranteed to bring all the feels from Karen Grey is available now!

Ben Porter may be living the dream, but it’s not his.

His dad’s health scare might not be the ideal reason to come home for the summer, but it’s a welcome break from the stellar glitz of Ben’s life in Los Angeles. Even if modeling has him rivaling Marky Mark’s fame, posing isn’t his passion. Landing a role with a Boston Shakespeare theater brings him closer to fulfilling his dreams of being a real actor.

Facing the reason he went west in the first place? That’s another story.

Lucy Minola’s dreams were shattered seven years ago when a drunk driver smashed into her brother’s car. She knows it was her fault. So as penance, she works hard to care for her family, goes to confession faithfully, and buries all the feelings she had for the person who left when she needed him most: her brother’s best friend.

When an injured dog brings them back together, Lucy’s good-girl facade begins to crack. Women everywhere are obsessed with the rad body they see in magazines, but she’s the only one Ben seems to notice.

She can’t trust herself with the man who walked away… but can she let him go a second time?

This bittersweet romance, book two in Karen Grey’s 1980’s Boston Classics series, proves that everyone deserves a second chance in love and in life.

“Good Girls Don’t” - The Knack
Lucy’s Copacetic Shagadelic Mixtape, Song #6

LUCY

Saturday morning, it’s hot and sticky for August. By the time I get to church, every crease of my dress is damp and my stocking-encased legs feel like sausages, so the cool and dark of the confessional is welcome. I kneel and make the sign of the cross just as the screen slides open and Father Signorelli says the usual greeting—in Latin, even though he’s supposed to have switched to the post-Vatican II form. I’m glad our church still does things the traditional way. When I went to the Newman Center the few months I was at UMass, getting general absolution didn’t feel like enough, but the alternative they offered—sitting face to face to confess to a priest—was too embarrassing.
I dab my brow with a tissue before beginning. “Bless me father, for I have sinned. It’s been two weeks since my last confession. These are my sins. I snapped at a coworker because she asked me some irritating questions, and I yelled at my brothers for leaving their dishes in the sink. I have been uncharitable toward an old, um… friend because I’m still angry at him for things he did a long time ago. I talked him into buying things he didn’t need to because… because I wanted him to suffer.”
“Hmm. Those are unbecoming behaviors in a young woman.”
“Yes, Father. For these and any other sins that I cannot remember, I humbly ask pardon of God and penance and absolution of thee, Father."
“Do your rosary and say five Our Fathers for your penance.”
I bow my head, say the Act of Contrition and do my best to focus as Father prays for my forgiveness.
When I step out of the box and into the incense-laden air, the weight of my sins doesn’t lift from my shoulders like it usually does, probably because I neglected to confess the many, many lustful thoughts that’ve set up camp in my nether regions.
I guess you could argue that I’m preventing harm by omitting those sins because if Father Signorelli heard what I’ve been up to alone in my bed at night, he’d surely have a stroke.

When I return from my lunch break on Monday, I’m greeted by Cindy in full-on puppy mode.
“Oh my god, that Ben Porter left you a message, Lucy!”
Stowing my purse in my locker, I spend more time than necessary changing back into my scrub top. I spent the break running errands—picking up a prescription for my dad and stocking up on toiletries for the family while I was at the pharmacy. I might’ve also picked up a few magazines which might just happen to contain a few revealing photos of Ben. It isn’t a sin to just look, right?
When I close my locker door, Cindy’s right there on the other side. “Isn’t that exciting?”
“Yes?” A balloon of hope floats up. I haul it back down to earth. No need to get all excited. He probably just has another question about the dog. I scan the corkboard where notes are usually pinned up. “Where’s the message?”
She finally stops bouncing up and down. “He didn’t call. He came in while you were out and I got to talk to him.” She whispers this like it’s the most exciting thing to have happened in weeks. Maybe it is. Although watching a dog yak up an entire package of tube socks last week was pretty entertaining.
“Oh. Okay.” I keep my tone cool, with some effort. “What was the message?”
“He asked me to ask you if you’d train his dog so it can be in a play! I wish I knew about animal training! How did you learn?” She grabs my forearm. “Do you need an assistant?”
Not sure where to start, I just nod. And then shake my head no. By the time my head’s circling, I realize something. “Did he leave a number?”
Cindy narrows her eyes. “Don’t you have his number?”
I don’t want to think about all this right now, so I exit the breakroom. “I guess I can get it from his chart if it’s not the same.”
She’s at my heels, nipping away with her questions. “Same what?”
“Um. Same everything. Number, house. Because he’s like… famous now?”
“Are you sure you really grew up with him?”
“Yep. I’m sure I did.”
Her smooth brow crinkles. “No offense, but you seem a lot older than him.”
“He’s three years older than me, Cindy.”
“So, he’s like mid-thirties?”
I stifle a sigh. Cindy’s only eighteen, so everyone is old to her. “Just FYI, Cindy, I’m twenty-five.”
“Not even! I thought you were way older than that.”
My brows go up as I stare her down.
“I mean, like, in a good way. Like you majorly have your shit together.”
“Uh-huh.”
Three bells sound, indicating that an owner is in for a pickup. I’ll take any excuse to escape from the interrogation, so I press the button indicating that I’ll grab the post-surgical cat. “I’m not sure I’ll have time, anyway.”
She follows me. “But you were saying you were trying to save money for that certification course. If he’s a rich model, charge him extra.”
She’s driving me crazy, but she has a point. How much money would it be worth to risk further stirring up the grief I thought I’d buried years ago?
Opening the cage to ease out a still groggy but now stitched-up and gonad-free cat, I whisper, “Hey, buddy, time to go home.”
Cindy, still at my elbow, closes the cage. “When was the last time you saw him anyway? I mean, before now.”
“Seven years ago.” Until last week, the last time I saw him was at my brother’s wake. But she doesn’t need to know that. “Things… ended badly.”
Talk about understatement of the year.
“Seven years! Lucy, jeez. Seven years ago, I was in elementary school! That’s forever ago. Forgive and forget already.” A single bell sounds, letting us know that a new client needs to be moved to an exam room. “Do you still want the cat discharge, or whatever’s behind door number one?”
I hand over the cat. “I’ll take the new patient.” I don’t have any ex-boyfriends left to surprise me, so I walk briskly to the waiting room, eager for a distraction. Whether it’s an engorged tick to be removed or a puppy needing its shots or a busted-up tomcat, taking care of an animal is always preferable to listening to my inner monologue.
Deciding what to do about Ben will have to wait.

Filthy Rich Billionaires #1

Contemporary Romance

Review copy provided by publisher

Liza's Review:

Originally published 12 years ago for Harlequin, Filthy Rich Revenge has revised and expanded. I didn't read the original story, but really enjoyed the expanded story. Alejandro and Rebecca had an affair 5 years ago, and Alejandro blames Rebecca for the loss of a huge business deal and vows revenge. When Rebecca's family business needs bailing out, Alejandro is in place to finally get revenge on Rebecca.

I'm not going to lie, I pretty much hated Alejandro in the beginning. He was a condescending asshat, and really didn't listen when Rebecca tried to explain anything. While I felt like Rebecca hadn't been very strong when they were originally together, she had a history behind her reasoning for leaving so quickly. I really loved how strong she was when they met again. She was focused on keeping her family business going and protecting her employees. She still has some emotional baggage from past relationships, yet had never really forgotten Alejandro or stopped loving him.

Alejandro was a tough character to love. Honestly it took me a good bit of the book to warm up to him. I could see had had goodness to him, yet he seemed to not listen to his instincts about Rebecca from way too long. However, after meeting his parents, I started to see part of why he had a wall to protect himself. After learning about the death of his daughter, I finally understood him enough to see past his hardened exterior. Another reason I started to fall for him was seeing how much he cared for Rebecca from the beginning, even when he was being a total tool.

Rebecca and Alejandro had amazing chemistry from page one, and I really wanted them both to let everything go from their past to make their future work. I won't lie, their path to happily ever after was a bit of a roller coaster ride, and I totally enjoyed the journey.

I enjoyed Rebecca and Alejandro's story, especially the growth of both characters over the course of the story. I really can't wait to read the rest of the books in this series from Lynn Raye Harris.

BLURB

Connor isn’t in the market for messy.

His life is going completely according to plan. He’s set to become CEO of his family’s company, his Ironman time is better than ever, and his regular poker nights with the guys are his one night a month he can stop worrying about counting macros and indulge himself. What he doesn’t need is a relationship with Emerson Dyer—daughter of his father’s lifelong enemy and most-hated rival.

Emerson’s life is nothing but messy.

Since her father died, leaving her CEO of their gin distillery, everything that could go wrong has gone wrong. Emerson is barely holding it together—what she doesn’t need is a complication like Connor Finch. Sure, his abs do look like they’ve been photoshopped, but she has no time to spend counting them. It’s her company’s numbers she should be worrying about. Still, there’s something about the way he makes her feel.

Together, they’re perfect.

Connor knows he and Emerson don’t make sense on paper. Too many differences between them—and one big secret that could destroy Emerson’s family business tells him to cut and run. But for once in his life, Connor doesn’t care about messy or imperfect—because the fact is, Emerson is the one perfect thing he needs in his life. Now if he can only convince her . . .

EXCERPT

When their lips met, he could taste the gin on her lips. Her tongue met his as boldly as the gin had done, bursting with life and flavor.

Her hand went around his neck, tugging him toward her, and he had half a mind to take her on the bar. Only the recollection that they were in her workplace stopped him from acting upon it.

When they finally broke for air, Emerson grinned. “When I said let it roll over the tongue, I meant yours not mine.”

“It tasted better on yours,” he said. “I needed a second opinion on the citrus.”

MEET THE AUTHOR

Scarlett Cole is a contemporary romance author that calls both Toronto, Canada and Manchester, England home. A born city dweller, she periodically quashes the urge to live in the country by hiking up a mountain to remind herself that living away from people would terrify the pants off her.

She believes everybody deserves their love story to be told and loves her heroes on the rough and rugged side…and usually tall (because she married one of those 6ft 6” men you read about in romance!). She’s an A-type personality and Scorpio star sign, so good luck getting her to do anything she doesn’t want to.

When she isn’t writing, she’s happy to talk hot men and expensive shoes while drinking a cold gin and tonic. Don’t bring up olives. As far as Scarlett is concerned, they are the devil’s food. As long as you don’t bring up olives, she’s happy to hear from any time.

Nikki's Review:

I swear I heard angels sing the day this book hit my kindle! Scarlett Cole is a like unicorn...rare, beautiful, almost mythical in her ability to weave a love story together. I was more than ready for a Scarlett fix, and Love in Numbers didn’t disappoint.

There are so many things that I can count on when reading a book written by Ms. Cole, but my favourite thing are her hero’s. It doesn’t matter if they’re ex-Navy SEALs, bad boy rockstars, or a hot AF businessman. I LOVE THEM ALL! Connor falls into the hot AF businessman category. The connection that he and Emerson had was instant and combustible. The sassy banter was entertaining, and made cutting through the raw sexual tension a little easier. I was dying for them to get all sweaty between the sheets. When it happened I felt like doing a fist pump. But it was worth the wait. Connor is all kinds of filthy in the bedroom. Yum!

I loved the friendship between Emerson and her siblings. They’re obviously family, but you can tell that they have a bond that goes beyond that. I’m really looking forward to Jake and Olivia getting their own books.

I know Scarlett Cole loves her gin. I also assumed that she knew a little about this particular liquor, besides the flavour. However, the amount of detail about the botanicals used in gin production, and the overall process to get it on the shelves was amazing. I was able to visualize in my mind what the distillery looked like, and how the stills functioned.

Honestly, this book wasn’t just great, it was amaze balls! The writing is off the charts, and the characters are so well developed and likeable. The only thing that I was left wanting was...more. Not because the story wasn’t complete, but because I wasn’t ready yet. That’s what Scarlett does, she always makes you want to come back for more.

Excerpt

Confusion riddles me. I stare at him for a long beat before finding my words. “My

parents died in a plane crash years ago.”

“Your freshman year in college, to be exact.” His features harden. “But they weren’t

your real folks.”

Horror ekes past my defenses. “What?”

Deep brown eyes holding a slight tinge of gold assess me. “That’s enough talk for now.

Ain’t got time to waste. Need to get you outta here.”

“As I said before, no, thank you.”

His gaze turns glacial. “You don’t understand—”

“I understand just fine! You’re obviously a criminal.” I gesture between him and where

Goliath remains standing. “And I want nothing to do with any of this. I pay my taxes. I return my

damn shopping cart at the store while the other assholes leave them in the parking lot. I’m not

someone who gets involved with people like you!”

He lets my outburst settle in silence. His lips press into a thin, irritated line before he

speaks in a low, deceptively subdued voice. “Can’t tell me that fancy professor brain of yours

ain’t dyin’ of curiosity ’bout your folks. That you ain’t eager as fuck to find out if your real dad

was murdered.”

I flick my eyes to the gun holstered at his side. “How do I know you’re not lying to me?”

“I always follow through on my end.”

“Right,” I say derisively.

His expression turns ferocious. “You questionin’ my word?”

Bravely, I lift my chin while maintaining eye contact. “I’d be stupid not to.”

He stares at me for a long moment. Wordlessly, he pulls his cell phone from his pocket

and scrolls through it. When he stops, his eyes flick up to mine, eerily watchful before he turns

the screen of the phone my way.

I suck in a sharp breath at the sight of the woman pictured on the screen, shock

ricocheting inside me.

“That’s Johanna Santilla. Your mom.”

Oh, my God. OhmyGod. I’ve heard of that name. Hell, anyone who hasn’t been living

under a rock has heard of the Santilla drug cartel. They originated in Cuba and began calling

Miami home over sixty years ago.

No photos exist of Johanna Santilla—at least none that have hit the internet. Photos of

her father, Carlos Santilla, have surfaced since his death, but they’ve often been grainy and

slightly pixelated, like the ones featured on Dateline NBC and other true crime television shows.

As for Johanna, however, once she took over the cartel for her father years ago, it’s as

though all photographic traces of her were somehow wiped clean. According to rumors, she

decided to keep a low profile when word got out about the FBI poking around in her business.

With criminology being my specialty, stories such as these fuel my brain, making me analyze the

psychological reasoning these particular individuals employ. I recall learning that once Nico

Alcanzar came into power, taking over for Salvatore Vega, Santilla allegedly grew more

secretive. Authorities couldn’t gather enough substantial evidence to pin any murders on her,

and she’s remained elusive to them ever since.

My eyes lock on the photo of Johanna Santilla standing beside her father, Carlos. But

that’s not what has me struggling to draw oxygen into my lungs.

“She looks…” I’m unable to finish, so stunned.

It’s as though I’m peering into my future. It’s undeniable that we have the same dark

hair and facial features.

“That viral video put you on everybody’s radar. One look at you and nobody could deny

you weren’t the goddamn spittin’ image of her.” His eyes flick to the phone a second before the

screen times out and goes dark. “Luckily, I’m the first to track you down.”

Nikki's Review:

I should probably start this review off in a more civilized manner, but all I can think about, days after I finished reading this book, is HOLY HELL I WAS NOT expecting that twist in the story! I kinda thought I had the ending all figured out, but nope! I was like...wait. What?! And of course I’m not going to share what the twist was because that would spoil everything! You gotta read it to find out what I’m talking about.

Ok, now that those jumbled thoughts are out of my head, I can go into this review a bit more calm and collected.

At first I was a bit bothered by the way Nico spoke. I’m a bit of a grammar freak, so whenever he said things like “ain’t”, I shuddered. I got over it quickly enough because the speech was authentic to who he was. And who he was was the leader of a drug cartel. In my head I was thinking, well, he isn’t THAT bad. I mean yes, he deals in drugs, but he’s sexy AF. That’s when I fully realized that Stockholm Syndrome is real. ðŸ¤·‍♀️

Anyways, yes, he’s a bad guy, but the chemistry between Nico and Olivia is HOT! The banter was off the charts and brilliant.

This book is raw and gritty. RC Boldt never ceases to amaze me, or pull me into the world she has created. Phenomenal is the word I’ll use to describe my final thoughts. Seriously though...That twist was CRAZY!

I become embedded in his life where he watches my every move. Then, I find myself doing the unthinkable: I fall for the glimpses of the man beneath the dark, menacing exterior.

I want him. The criminal. The murderer. The lover. The protector. The man who never asked for my heart.

The further I fall, the more ensnared I become in his tangled web of lies, masking the truth beneath.

Because when it comes to the art of deception, nothing is as it seems.

RELEASE BLITZ: RETURN BILLIONAIRE TO SENDER

Return Billionaire to Sender by Annika Martin is now live!

I may be a shy, lowly letter carrier, but when my beloved apartment building is threatened by a mysterious and reclusive billionaire, I'm willing to push the envelope. I'm going to march right up to Malcolm Blackberg's fortress of fierceness and deliver a cease-and-desist notice he can't refuse.

Only, no sooner do I get inside his gilded doors than things go sideways--fast. I'm mistaken for Malcolm's court-ordered emotional IQ coach, as if I'm acting out a wacky postal carrier cosplay.

They drag me in, a sacrificial lamb for the big bad. Make that big, smolderingly sexy bad.

So I make up a lesson involving a story about our building as he glares and fumes. Can he tell that I have no idea what I'm doing?

Before I know it I'm flying around the country, up close and personality testing the most devilishly exasperating man I've ever met.

He's scary for sure...but the way he sometimes looks at me turns my knees to jelly and has me writing love letters to his gorgeous eyes, his mouthwatering smile, his impressive...package.

Our coaching sessions are getting hot-hot-hot, but I can't let my guard down. If he ever finds out I'm a first-class fake, I'll lose everything I've ever loved in this world...

Liza's Review:

Return Billionaire to Sender is the 5th book in the Billionaires in Manhattan by Annika Martin. Malcolm Blackberg is the billionaire who not only owns the building Noelle and her friends live in, he is planning on demolishing their building. Noelle honestly believes if she can just talk to Malcolm and shows him videos of all the residents that have become their own little family, he will change his mind about their building. When Malcolm mistakes Noelle for Stella the emotional intelligence coach, she runs with it and tries to teach him empathy and compassion by showing him the videos...through 21 hours of court mandated coaching.

So honestly Malcolm was a bit of an ass when the story started. I didn't love that Noelle was lying to him about who she was, but he really didn't see that how he acted was wrong. I will say I loved the banter between Elle and Malcolm from the beginning, but her keeping the truth about her identity really bothered me through much of the book. I felt like they truly became friends even before they became lovers, so it just didn't sit well with me. Honestly, it stressed me out for the first 70% of the book. That being said, I found myself laughing out loud many times over the course of the story, and I did really love Elle and Malcolm as a couple. Malcolm and Elle had amazing chemistry pretty much from the moment they bumped into one another, and I felt like Elle helped Malcolm to see life from a different perspective. Yes, they both made some huge errors along the way, but they also each went all in to fix those mistakes.

While Return Billionaire to Sender started off a bit rough for me, I ended up enjoying Malcolm and Elle's journey to their very own happily ever after. As with any book by Annika Martin, it was filled with humor and romance, and ultimately the happily ever after romance fans love.

Excerpt:

“Jonah.” My name is growled.

Roman grabs my shirt when I spin around and pulls me into a classroom with no lights on. Did he not hear the sermon? We can’t be caught together. Expecting to hit the wall, I stumble into the gloomy room with Roman shutting the door behind me.

“What are you doing in here?”

He doesn’t answer me, just grips my shirt again and pushes me against the wall where we won’t be seen by anyone walking past the door and he’s pressed against me. His lips are harsh and demanding against mine. He’s pissed off, but I’m too hurt by my father’s words to be angry yet. It’ll come, but right now, my heart is heavy and broken.

Gripping his face, I kiss him back just as hard, frantic for his touch. My tongue duels with his and my teeth latch onto his lip. He growls, the rumble of it vibrating my chest. He’s pressed against me, mouth to thigh, and hard as steel. Blood pumps through my veins, filling my cock at his closeness.

He reaches for my pants, and I break our kiss.

“Roman,” I pant, my hands reaching for his wrists.

“Why do you come here?”

His question catches me off-guard. He’s still crowding me against the wall, his deep blue eyes searching my face for something, but it’s hard to think with him this close to me.

“Why wouldn’t I? I’m a son of God.”

Confusion leaves me open for his next assault. Roman’s lips crush mine, taking no prisoners. This kiss is hard, demanding, brutal. It’s exactly what I need. The pain, the desperation.

I kiss him back just as hard, biting at his lips, sucking on his tongue, ravaging his mouth. My dick aches in my pants, hard, desperate for attention. Roman’s body moves against me, his dick just as hard behind his zipper.

Reaching down, he grabs my leg and pulls it around his hip to get a better angle. His thick cock sliding against mine has my eyes rolling back into my head and he swallows my moan.

My hands grip his shirt, pushing him away from me, forcing him to let go of my lips. We stand there for a long minute, panting, not saying anything.

“We can’t do this here.” I’m finally able to get the words out.

Roman smirks that damn look that says, “I can do whatever the fuck I want.” His hands cup my ass, forcing me to grind against him. My eyes close and a groan rumbles from my throat.

Stop,” I pant. “We can’t do this here. Not in the House of God. It’s sacrosanct. It’s wrong.”

“Does it feel good, Jonah?” Roman lips brush against my ear. “My dick against yours?”

“Yes,” I hiss through clenched teeth, pleasure overriding the common sense part of my brain.

“Does it feel right? Me touching you like this?” His teeth nip at the skin of my neck. “Huh? Does this feel perverted? Does this feel like something you can just stop wanting?”

Roman’s hand moves to the front of my pants once again, his palm pushing and stroking against my dick through my pants. My hips buck against him on instinct, wanting more.

His lips drop to mine again, shutting down all logical thought. My hands move to his hair, pulling on the gold locks he wears so proudly.

Meet Andi

From Dyslexic kid with a love of Algebra to a published author, no one expected me to become an author. I love to write about tortured pasts and hot sex, a happily ever after that has to be worked for. My stories tend to be contemporary with a few little dark elements and some comic relief, typically in the form of sarcasm.
