Seven years ago, they took everything from me. My father. My

When they stole my chance at justice, I vowed to get
revenge.

Then I met him.

He tempts that long-lost part of me, but his presence is a
reminder that betrayal lurks around every corner.

Their biggest mistake is underestimating my commitment for
vengeance.

They don’t realize that when it comes to a woman like me,
hell hath no fury.

Death.

Heartache.

Vengeance.

This isn’t a tale for the tender-hearted, the
judgmental, or those who refuse to think outside the box and look at the
broader picture. Those who think that everything is black and white. Simple.
Cut and dried.

It’s not. There’s always shades of gray.

It’s easier to say “I’d never” when you’re
sitting safely at home with the people you love most right by your side. When
grief hasn’t woven itself so deeply in the fabric of your DNA that it can never
be unraveled. There can be no separation. And even if you tried, it would only
result in you becoming a frayed and tangled mess.

It’s easy to say you’d never walk the
treacherous moral tightrope. But you aren’t the one who plummeted to the depths
of hell, littered with the agony of loss and the anger of injustice, and had to
claw your way out.

This story isn’t scrawled on pristine white
pages in bold black ink. Marred, torn, and blood-spattered, its chapters hold
deep gouges inflicted by betrayal.

This story is about a woman who had everything
taken from her.

And how she took it all back.

Nikki's Review

This book was so different than anything I’ve read by RC Boldt. I mean, it was REALLY different. Dark and brutal are two words that come to mind. This book makes you ask yourself, what would you do if everything, and everyone, that you loved was ripped from you by unspeakable evil? What are you capable of in order to get the justice and vengeance that you need to move on?

I am left gobsmacked after reading this book. The brutality of Caitlin’s revenge is jaw dropping, but I couldn’t put the book down. I was mentally fist pumping when she wielded her bow and arrow at the bad guys. I was like, wait! Am I really cheering on a vigilante who is killing people? Yes, yes I am. I tried putting myself inside Caitlin’s mind, and her grief was bloody palpable...so was her fury. As a mother, I could understand what was driving her.

The hero, Hunter, and Caitlin don’t meet until about 50% of the way through the book. This would normally drive me batty, but in this book it had to happen that way. The author did an amazing job building the suspense, and creating the perfect scene, and time, for them to meet. Once they were on the page together it was full throttle all the way. The chemistry is off the charts, and the vulnerability that both exude is right there at the surface. It’s like they couldn’t help but be vulnerable with each other, and there was this magnetic force pulling them together. Neither of them stood a chance.

I can’t say too much, or I’ll give away all the good stuff. It’s hard to not spill it all in this review. But holy hell, there’s this scene, during the climatic part towards the end, that had my goddamn jaw hanging wide open! I was like, no fucking way! This isn’t happening. So many emotions hit me all at once. I was mad as hell, and then once the implications hit me, I was heartbroken for Caitlin. ALL. THE. FEELS!

This book will stick with me for a long time to come. Though that usually happens when I read an RC Boldt novel. She sucks me into her written world so easily. I’ll end this review by repeating what I started with...what would you do if everything, and everyone, that you loved was ripped from you by unspeakable evil? What are you capable of in order to get the justice and vengeance that you need to move on?
