Though she and Sebastian had been sharing a suite in California, the fact was, they lived in separate apartments in New York. No matter what she felt for him, London, her job, and her life awaited her. The sooner they got used to being apart the better.
“I’m tired,” she said. “I didn’t rest much on the flight, and we have to be up early tomorrow to meet with Ethan.”
His grin turned into a frown. “Why do I get the feeling you’re pulling away?”
She rubbed her hands over her arms and turned away, not wanting to face him. It was one thing to pull back, another to look him in the eye while doing it. Not when all she really wanted to do was throw herself into his arms. But she lived in reality. So here they were.
“Hey.” He grasped her and turned her around. “I have a question for you.”
“Okay…” she said warily.
“Why are you still here?”
“What?” She hadn’t anticipated that question.
“Why are you still here, in New York? You said you came for Ethan, but when he sent you away, you came with me. And now we’ve wrapped things up. We’re talking to Ethan in the morning. Is your flight home booked?” As he spoke, his hands on her forearms felt like a brand, a reminder that she belonged here, with him.
And she couldn’t let that sway her. Although she’d put work out of her mind, she had checked in with her bosses while she was away, assured them she was returning. She’d bought herself another week, that was it. They understood her leave of absence but wanted her back as soon as possible.
“I’ll take your silence to be a no,” Sebastian said, releasing her arms. “Which brings me back to why? Do you still want to be here? Or are you avoiding Mr. Perfectly Nice?”
She didn’t want to talk about any of this. She still had a week left, and in that time, Ethan would need her once he found out about Mandy’s cheating. Or was that just an excuse? Because she wasn’t ready to leave Sebastian, her conscience asked her.
She glared at him. “Why are you pushing me so hard just because I said I was tired?” she asked, more annoyed with herself but taking it out on him.
“Because of what we shared in California. Because of what we feel for each other, even if you’re not ready to admit it. And because I want to know.”

I love a good second chance romance. I also love a brand spanking new book from Carly Phillips!
Sebastian. I don’t know what it is about that name, but it makes me all swoony. I wasn’t totally sure I was going like Sebastian at first. It only took a wee bit of time to decide that I wouldn’t kick him out of bed for eating crackers!
I really liked Ashley. She had all the qualities of an amazing heroine. She was smart, sweet and a little bit sass all wrapped into one.
One of the things I enjoyed the most about this book was watching these two characters find their footing while navigating through old hurts. I liked the strong and easy flowing character development. There was a lot of growth for the both of them.
Of course I got all the feels from this book. And lord, it was crazy sexy! Not gonna lie, I love me some crazy sexy times!
Like every other Carly Phillips book I’ve read, the writing was absolutely superb. I always want more. I get invested in these well written characters. I think about them for a while after their story has ended. That is the sign of a wonderful novel.

Take Me Again is absolutely one of the best books I've ever read from Carly Phillips. It is the first book in her new Knight Brothers series and I absolutely am in love with this family after just one book.
Let me just say that Sebastian Knight wasn't my favorite person at the start of the book, yet ended up being my favorite character ever from Ms. Phillips. I did love that when a mirror was put in front of his face of his past actions, he finally didn't like what was there and decided to make a change. Sebastian wanting to change all comes from his former step-sister Ashley Easton returning to New York when his brother Ethan's wife passes away. The chemistry between Sebastian and Ashley was amazing from the moment they saw each other again, even if neither one of them was really looking for a relationship.
Sebastian and Ashley not only have amazing chemistry, but they worked well together when the Knight family business needs them to work together to solve a problem with one of the biggest contracts for the business. I have to say that Sebastian and Ashley are one of the hottest couples Ms. Phillips has ever written. Once they finally gave into their attraction, they were so smoking hot together, they steamed up my kindle screen. I loved that they fit together so well and my favorite thing was the fact that Sebastian knew he was in love first. There is just something about the hero falling first that gives me all the happy feels! I love how patient Sebastian was with Ashley as she realized her feelings.
Take Me Again was a wonderful start to the Knight Brothers series. I totally fell in love with Sebastian and Ashley and their second chance romance was absolutely perfect. I can't wait to see what happens with Parker, Ethan and Sierra in future books.
