HOT ANGEL (HOSTILE OPERATIONS TEAM #12)

She’s damaged…

Brooke Sullivan’s carefully ordered existence is spiraling out of control. A year ago, she was violently abducted by a terrorist group and nearly killed. She’s worked hard to get her life back on track—moving to a new house, changing careers, going on a couple of dates. When she witnesses a murder, she’s plunged into a new nightmare. And as the past threatens to repeat itself, she’s not sure she’ll survive this time.
He’s ruthless…

Cade “Saint” Rodgers never forgot the beautiful girl he talked to at the wedding of his commanding officer. Now she’s in trouble, and he’s the one tasked with protecting her. Brooke is terrified of men like him—a Black Ops soldier for whom violence is a way of life—which makes falling for her a terrible idea. But that won’t stop Cade from using every sensual trick he’s got to make her believe anything is possible if only she wants it badly enough.
Together, they’re combustible…

As danger draws closer, it’ll take all of Cade’s strength—and all of Brooke’s determination—to learn how to let go of the past and trust each other. But it might not be enough. To keep her safe, he may have to let her go forever…

Liza's Review:

The Hostile Operations Team books and their spinoff series with the SEALS remain my favorite books from Lynn Raye Harris. These books are like crack to me and I have to devour each one as soon as it hits my kindle. HOT Angel pulled me in from the very first page!

Brooke Sullivan is still recovering from being abducted and held hostage over a year ago. She has moved into a condo and gotten a great dog, Max, but really hasn't dated anyone she was really interested in since she got home. She has only really dated one guy who she isn't attracted to that makes her feel safe.

Brooke is attracted to Cade "Saint" Rodgers, and he doesn't make her feel safe in the least. She is insanely attracted to him and while she feels safe enough to engage in texting conversations, Cade is such a big man she is a bit intimidating to Brooke in the beginning. I honestly loved they started their relationship via texting. Cade knew Brooke was extra special and he wanted her in his life, and I loved he let her set the pace of how they moved along. I honestly felt like they connected so well and so fast because Brooke had that initial distance of text only that she started to trust Cade way faster than she would have based upon his career and all she had been through with her kidnapping.

When Brooke's neighbor Scott is murdered, Brooke is the only person who might have seen the killer leaving their floor. Scott was completely fixated on Brooke and totally believed there was more to their relationship than Brooke saw. I loved that when Brooke realized she needed someone, her first thought was Cade rather than her best friend Grace. I felt like this was really when Brooke and Cade's relationship started moving into more of a couple than friends only.

I loved Brooke and Cade as a couple. They had amazing chemistry together, but it was when Brooke opened up and shared everything that had gone on when she was abducted that I knew they would make it as a couple. I absolutely loved Cade and Brooke as a couple. While she didn't love Cade's job, she totally accepted how necessary it was and how great he was at it. I knew at some point Cade would have to protect Brooke once her neighbor was murdered, and I honestly fell in love with the HOT guys all over again as they worked together to rescue Brooke from the bad guys.

HOT Angel is absolutely another winner in the Hostile Operations Team series. Lynn Raye Harris once again gives her readers a sexy romance with action that keeps the reader on the edge of their seat.
