Crossing Hearts is the first book in the Cross Creek series from Kimberly Kincaid. I really loved getting to meet the Cross clan and have to say I fell a little bit in love with each of the family members.

I adore a second chance romance, and have to say Crossing Hearts was done so well. I loved that Hunter and Emerson were high school sweethearts and really had loved each other completely before Emerson left for college. I also could totally feel they were still attracted to one another from the moment they saw each other again when Hunter needed physical therapy for his injured shoulder. Emerson pretty much had never wanted to leave their hometown but did so at the insistence of her parents. When she discovered she had MS, she knew heading back to her hometown was the right thing for her.  

Hunter and Emerson quickly took their relationship from a professional one to a more personal one, and they were so great together. Emerson and Hunter pretty much spent all their time together when not at work. I loved that Emerson was so willing to help put the Cross family in getting their farmers market better exposure, and it kinda felt like Emerson and Hunter picked up their relationship pretty much where they left off in high school. Once Emerson shared her diagnosis of MS with Hunter, I loved that he did all he could to help her when she was having issues, even when it went against her wishes. I have to say that the stained relationship between Emerson and her parents was the only part of the book that made me sad. I really was so glad when Hunter went against Emerson's wishes and she finally started communicating with both parents.  

Crossing Hearts was a wonderful start to the Cross Creek series. I loved each of the Cross brothers and they dad so much and loved seeing Hunter and Emerson find their way to make things work between them. I could tell with soon after starting Crossing Hearts the Cross Creek series would be a favorite of mine and I'm so glad I already have the second book, Crossing the Line, waiting on my bookshelf.
