GOIN' OUT SOLO

Rock star Nate Hawthorne’s good-guy status is as iconic as his black cowboy hat, despite his personal struggles. Now faced with his own mortality, he must choose whether to continue being the good friend, the good band mate…or risk being very, very bad.

Sara Drayton has overcome a nightmare childhood to stand on her own merits, even if her overprotective brother can’t see it. Nate has been her forbidden fantasy for years. Now he’s offering her a no-strings weekend at his cabin to fulfill all her desires—except her wish to be his forever.

Nate knows he’s breaking the rules by taking Sara to bed, but he’s desperate for the peace he can only find through her touch. With death on the horizon, can forbidden love bring one man back from the brink of an uncertain future?

Backstage Pass Book #4

I'm a huge fan of Dani Wade's books and was super excited to get a chance to read her upcoming novella early. I'm a little behind on the Backstage Pass series, but could read Goin' Out Solo as a stand-alone story with no issues.

I absolutely loved Nate and Sara together. Their chemistry was off the charts hot and I absolutely loved how Nate and Sara connected. Sara and Nate both have issues from their past that are interfering with their presence and possible future. I absolutely loved how Nate was so patient with Sara when they are first together. He has wanted Sara forever, yet had never acted on that attraction since she is one of his best friends' little sister. However, with his medical issues causing an uncertain future for him, he will take this one weekend of pleasure with Sara with no regret.

Sara has wanted Nate pretty much from the moment she first saw him. While she wants forever with Nate, she believes she can take this one weekend with him and be happy. Sara was much more open on their weekend together and I really felt like to make things work, Nate would need to be able to share all his secrets as well. I did feel like the more time they spent together, Nate opened up a bit more, and especially after they made love.

Goin' Out Solo is a novella length beautifully written romance. I loved watching Sara and Nate work their way through their past to find a future together.
