Excerpt:

The bell on the door to Couture Corsets tinkled, announcing that a customer had just walked into Paige Moore’s small boutique in Old Town San Diego, where she designed and sold custom-made corsets.
“It’s just me,” she heard her good friend Raina Beck call out.
Knowing Raina would just head to the back area of the shop where Paige did all her designing and creations, she continued hand sewing small seed pearls to an exquisite white satin corset she was making for a client’s wedding night.
A moment later, Raina walked past the curtain of glittering crystals hanging in the doorway that separated the retail floor from the workroom. “Wow, that looks stunning,” she said of the one-of-a-kind bridal corset, her voice laced with awe.
Paige glanced over her shoulder and grinned. “Thanks. Once I add the crystal and lace embellishments along the bodice, this bride is going to knock her groom’s pants off when he sees her in this corset.”
Raina laughed. “Not a bad way to start off a marriage.”
“What? By getting lucky?” Paige asked humorously as she set her needle and thread down on the nearby worktable that dominated the area.
“And being totally turned on by your new wife.”
“Speaking of getting turned on,” Paige said with a smirk as she eyed her cheerful friend. “You’re glowing and smiling all the time, so things with Logan must be good, yes?”
“Really good,” Raina admitted, her face flushing with happiness. “And I do have to say, it’s nice having sex on a regular basis,” she teased.
Paige sent her a mock glare. “Yeah, I wouldn’t know, so stop bragging,” she grumbled, even though she was genuinely thrilled that Raina had found a man who absolutely adored her. “What brings you by?”
“I have something for you,” Raina said and handed her an envelope with the word Welcome embossed in black across the front.
Paige’s eyes widened as she looked at the envelope. “Oh my God, is this an invitation to your wedding? I can’t believe you didn’t tell me…” Her words and excitement trailed off as she pulled out the card inside and read the message granting her a night at The Players Club, an exclusive, members-only sex club.
“Oh, wow,” she breathed in surprise and glanced back at Raina. “I thought—”
“If I was getting married, you’d know about it before I sent out invitations because you’d be my maid of honor,” Raina interrupted with a laugh. “Besides, I’m not even engaged yet. This invitation is for you,” Raina went on with a grin. “The Players Club is a place where you can get down and dirty and freaky with a stranger, indulge in a fantasy, or try a particular kink that has piqued your interest.”
“I have to say, that sounds very tempting.”
Oh, yes, Paige was definitely intrigued. It had been a year and a half since she’d been with a man. A year and a half since the morning Sawyer Burrows had shattered her heart with his betrayal. And the thought of indulging in a night of hot sex with an anonymous guy was incredibly appealing. She needed to do something to finally shake Sawyer from her mind and thoughts and let the painful past go so she could move on with her life.
Easier said than done, but an evening at The Players Club was a good start to putting an end to her dry spell.
“There is one thing you need to know.” Raina suddenly looked uncertain. “Logan told me that Sawyer is a member of The Players Club. Which, in my opinion, could work to your advantage if he’s there the night you decide to go.”
Paige frowned, not sure how she felt about running into a man she swore she hated yet who still had the ability to affect her on a physical level. Yeah, that part drove her absolutely crazy, but she was curious what Raina meant. “How so?”
“If he’s there, think of it as a bit of revenge.” Raina’s eyes danced with mischief. “Flirt with other guys and enjoy yourself. Show Sawyer exactly what he’s been missing and what is no longer his. Men are such jealous, possessive creatures, and it’ll drive him nuts to see you with another man.”
The corner of Paige’s mouth curled into a smile as she thought about her friend’s suggestion. It had been too long since she’d felt desired and sexy. Combine the bonus of possibly showing Sawyer that she was over him by letting him see her enjoy another man’s attention, and it really was a win-win situation.
Her decision made, she met Raina’s gaze and lifted her chin in determination. “I’m totally down for that.”

About Erika Wilde
Erika Wilde (aka Janelle Denison) is the USA Today bestselling author of over 50 contemporary romances for multiple print publishers.
So, why the new pen name?
As Janelle Denison I’ve always written sexy books, but lately my writing has taken on more erotic elements that I wanted to keep separate for readers because not everyone likes their reading material on the spicier, kinkier side of romance.   However, please be assured that even as Erika Wilde, you will still get an emotionally layered story with characters you’ll care about and fall in love with.   That is always my goal, whether I’m writing straight contemporary romances, or more erotically charged stories.
Currently, I’m working on The Marriage Diaries and making sure that Dean and Jillian enjoy exploring the more erotic side to their marriage.  The series will be on-going, with no foreseeable ending as of right now, for as long as readers want to be voyeurs to Dean and Jillian’s sizzling new relationship.
I’m also planning a spin-off series in the future, featuring the hot military men that work security for Dean at Noble and Associates.

Backstage Pass Book #4
Review copy provided by author

I'm a huge fan of Dani Wade's books and was super excited to get a chance to read her upcoming novella early. I'm a little behind on the Backstage Pass series, but could read Goin' Out Solo as a stand-alone story with no issues.

I absolutely loved Nate and Sara together. Their chemistry was off the charts hot and I absolutely loved how Nate and Sara connected. Sara and Nate both have issues from their past that are interfering with their presence and possible future. I absolutely loved how Nate was so patient with Sara when they are first together. He has wanted Sara forever, yet had never acted on that attraction since she is one of his best friends' little sister. However, with his medical issues causing an uncertain future for him, he will take this one weekend of pleasure with Sara with no regret.

Sara has wanted Nate pretty much from the moment she first saw him. While she wants forever with Nate, she believes she can take this one weekend with him and be happy. Sara was much more open on their weekend together and I really felt like to make things work, Nate would need to be able to share all his secrets as well. I did feel like the more time they spent together, Nate opened up a bit more, and especially after they made love.

Goin' Out Solo is a novella length beautifully written romance. I loved watching Sara and Nate work their way through their past to find a future together.

Southern Nights Book 3

Nikki's Review

I stumbled upon Ella Sheridan’s books a few months back. I purchased book 1 in The Southern Nights and was hooked! Man, what a fabulous writer! Solid plots, easy flowing dialogue between the characters and really yummy alpha males! That right there is the recipe for an awesome romance novel!

I’m not sure there is anything worse in the world, than the loss of a child. Except maybe losing a child and never knowing what happened to them. Peyton Harrison has never given up hope in finding her baby boy Micah. He was taken so cruelly from her 6 years before by someone she knew and trusted. After getting a lead on where her son is, she puts in motion a plan to get him back. Her journey lands her in the town of Claywater, and back into the arms of the man who broke her heart years before, Gabe Harrison. Gabe thought he was doing the noble thing by leaving Peyton in the middle of the night after their first and only intimate encounter. He was older than her and wanted things that he thought a 17 year old Peyton wouldn’t be able to handle. He wanted to share his lady with his twin brother, Sam. Little did he know that he was also leaving behind an unborn son.

As a mom myself, I could so clearly feel Peyton’s grief over her sons kidnapping. At times my breath would catch because I would put my sons face in place of Micah's. The anguish that Ms. Sheridan wrote was palpable. It’s the never knowing that’s killed Peyton a little more everyday. Never knowing if her boy was alive or dead. I can imagine, but hope to never know those emotions that were laid out in a such a realistic way.

I really liked Peyton. She was completely broken but refused to give up hope. She always managed to pull up her big girl panties and get stuff done. She had just enough of that feminine vulnerability that I love in a heroine and a kick ass attitude that made her unwilling to be someones doormat. When she and Gabe are finally reunited, there is some serious chemistry shooting off the page! Man, she is righteous in her anger and with every right. Gabe abandoned her. And she refuses to let his gorgeous lopsided smirk make her panties melt. At least thats what she keeps telling herself! Add in a twin? Wowza! Double the hotness and tingly girlie bits.

Gabe has never forgotten Peyton or how much he loved her. He wants her back and he wants to share her with his twin, Sam. I drooled over this double assault of hot smokin’ alpha male, gonna have my female attitude. I’ll never look at twin hotties the same way again! From the get go, Sam and Gabe want to be there for Peyton, and once the truth about why she’s really in town comes out, there’s no way those two are going anywhere. And what’s a girl to do but open her heart to two men who only want to worship her and be fathers to her son? These three characters turn up the heat a thousand notches when they come together. Why, Ms. Sheridan, you may have made me feel all flushed! I think I actually had butterflies in tummy. Seriously, the love scenes are swoon worthy and totally delicious!

The action in this book was well done. I never felt like it was taking away from the romance aspect that I crave. It was a fantastic supporting plot that kept things flowing and absolutely interesting outside of the bedroom! The bad guy is a smooth, suave douche bag who I wanted to throat punch once or twice, but that’s the sign of a well written jerk right?! I enjoyed the task force meetings between the lawmen. The way it was written, I felt like I was sitting in the room with these policemen. The conversation moved along quickly but I didn’t feel like I needed a background in law enforcement to follow along.

Aside from the kidnapping scenario, there were other sniff worthy moments in this book. Sam and Gabe felt real to me. They had real reactions and emotions when a friend was killed. When Sam cried, I could’ve fallen to my knees. It tore my heart out. Not everything that made me all lumpy throated was horrible though. When Peyton is finally reunited with her son, I felt like I could take a deep breath again. Again, I think it’s the mom in me that could so relate. I could feel myself hugging my babies. It was a good feeling.

Though this is the third book in the series, you don’t need to read the previous books to follow along well. Do yourself a favor though…READ THEM ALL! They are so worth the time and money. Ella Sheridan has written a series that drew me in from the beginning and made me beg (harass?) her for more!

MIDNIGHT SECRETS

Midnight series book 6 Men of Midnight #3

Nikki’s Review:

I love romantic suspense novels. Hot, swoon worthy alpha males and a little mystery or perhaps a thriller plot? Sounds perfect right? I wanted to love this book. It started off so promising but then it just lost momentum.

Isabel Delvaux is absolutely broken. Torn to shreds is probably more accurate. She's lost her entire family to a horrific act of terrorism. Her family was American political royalty, her father being pegged for the next President. She's the only survivor of the massacre. Imagine the guilt and loneliness that would come with that? She has it in spades. Suffering from memory loss, emotional and physical trauma, she can hardly leave her house. I liked the way the author wrote Isabel. I could really believe that this woman's life, her foundation, was not only rocked, but destroyed. The desolation and despair is heavy. Believable. She's weak in every sense.

Joe Harris is a former Navy SEAL. Sigh...why do SEALs make me all fluttery? He's coming back from his own battle. He's been shot up, blown up and sewn back together. He's taken his recovery by the balls and pushed through. No wallowing for him. Again, a true description of what I imagine a SEAL would be like. I kinda fell in love with him. Of course he's surrounded by fellow Navy hotties. Joe takes it slow with his new skittish neighbour. He fixes stuff for her and makes himself available should she need him. There's that flutter again.

Isabel is scared out of her wits one night, and well, what happens when you're scared by a creepy peeping Tom? You hope into bed with the hunk from next door...finally! I totally loved these two souls together. They were each fighting their own battles. They needed each other. Isabel needed to feel something other than despair and Joe needed to feel grounded. The love scenes weren't over the top. Certainly not erotic. Just ok. I could have used a little more imagination with their encounters. Nothing crazy. But there was never even any foreplay. Ladies, we like foreplay right?! Right?! Joe was typically blowing like a 14 year old who just got his hands on his daddy’s dirty magazine. Seriously, every time that happened I winced! I was like, oh poor Isabel! But of course she managed to climax right at the same time, despite his complete lack of finesse.

Politics...I hate politics. So when I have to read several pages to a whole chapter about dirty politics, my freaking eyes glaze over. The parts with the antagonist and his plotting and scheming were drawn out and just too much. I couldn't wait for those parts to be over.

My favorite part in this book was Joe and his buddies hanging out. The banter was great and I got a real sense of friendship between them. They really had each other's backs.

Ok, the most unbelievable part of this book? Isabel is like this meek and weak lost soul. She can barely leave her house. And in the span of less than 48 hours, she hops into bed with Joe, has unprotected sex from the get go, embraces his horde of friends and their ladies, and then becomes GI Jane with revenge on the brain. I would have liked to see a more natural progression in this. I know, I know, stuff is sped up in a fictional world. But this was bloody warp speed!

I have read many books by this author in the past. I've enjoyed them. So I would be interested in picking up a Ms. Rice novel again. But this book just didn't do it for me.
