Montlake Romance, Contemporary
January 27, 2015
Paperback & Kindle
Catherine Davenport Carlton needs a break. After
dedicating her life to her political-minded family, shocking scandals from the
past have shaken her to her core. Summer in the quiet town of Dyersport, Maine,
is just what she needs, especially with a super-hot neighbor right next
door…who’s none other than Brody Hollister, the boy she fell in love with as a
teen. Cat wants nothing more than to pick up right where they left off eighteen
years ago, but she’s still haunted by a terrible secret that could devastate
Brody.
Brody Hollister spent years pining over Cat
Davenport. They met young and loved passionately—until she disappeared from his
life. Now she’s back, as spirited and beautiful as ever. But while Brody is
determined to help Cat free herself from her family’s drama, his own family may
be hiding something that could ruin their rekindled romance for good.
In Book Two of the Davenports romance series, sex
and politics collide…with passionate results.

My Review:
My Review:
I'm a pretty big fan of Kim Law and was excited to get a chance
to read her newest book early. I was given a review copy through NetGalley
thanks to the publisher.
Caught in the Act is the 2nd book in The Davenports series, yet
reads well as a stand-alone. I know this as I somehow missed the release of the
1st book in the series.
I really loved both Brody and Cat. Their chemistry was strong
from the first moment they laid eyes on each other again. I absolutely loved
that Cat had been lusting after Brody each day during his run each day before
she found out he was living next door to her.
Sadly while Cat is on vacation, she still has to be in the
spotlight as Catherine Davenport Carlton. She comes from a political family and
must always be ready to step in and represent her family, even when she has no
desire to do so.
Luckily Cat and Brody have the chance to reconnect and they
quickly rekindle their love affair and find they both love each other as much
as before. Of course, their past does come back to bite them both as they both
have kept a pretty big secret from each other.
I loved how Ms. Law expressed all the emotions for Cat and
Brody. This book made me feel right along with Cat and Brody. It made me laugh,
angry at other characters and even cry at one point.
I really loved Caught in the Act and think it is a great read for
anyone who loves a strong contemporary romance.
