The White Years Book 2 The Original Sinners Book 6

I was lucky enough to get a review copy of The King thanks to the publisher through NetGalley. I'm a huge fan of Tiffany Reisz and devour each and every story of hers I can find. 

I knew going in that The King was Kingsley's story on how he built his empire. I've always loved Kingsley, but I fell even harder for him in this book. I loved that Kingsley is sharing his story in The King. While I love everything about Nora/Eleanor, I was so glad to see the focus be on Kingsley in this book.

I really loved that Kingsley was the one telling the story of how he built his kingdom. I knew bits and pieces of the story from reading the books in The Red Years, but didn't know exactly how the Eighth Circle was built and I loved getting the background. I honestly love Kingsley wants to build his empire to protect others in the BDSM lifestyle, but especially to give Søren an outlet. 

We also get Sam's backstory in The King. I knew who Sam was because she has appeared in some short stories and even some in The Red Years books, but didn't really know her backstory until The King. While she will never replace my girl-crush on Nora, I absolutely love Sam after reading The King. Part of what I loved most is her helping Kingsley find his fashion sense. 

I always feel like I can't say much without giving so much away so much of the story. Ms. Reisz gives her readers such an in depth story with each book. The Original Sinners series is one of my favorites ever and I anxiously await each new story. I'm already counting down until The Virgin is released next year.
