Kiss of the Night

I will start Kiss of the Night tonight. This is the sixth in the Dark-Hunter series. From the back cover, I know that Kiss of the Night is the story of Wulf Tryggvasen. Wulf is the Dark-Hunter that can't remember anyone five minutes after he leaves their presence.

Phantom Pleasures

Phantom Pleasures is amazing!!! Julie Leto grabs you from page 1 and takes you on a wild ride to the end. Alexa and Damon are magical together. The story starts in the 1700's and then comes into 2008. There is magic and mystery to keep you on the edge of your seat trying to figure out the ending. Alexa and Damon are both very strong characters with their own ideas as to who is in charge. Cat is Alexa's best friend and is sent on a mission for Alexa where she meets Ben. Cat and Ben have great chemistry, and I can't wait to find out what happens between Cat and Ben as the series progresses. The next book in the series is Phantom Touch, which comes on in December.

Finished Dance with the Devil

I think it only took me about 3 hours total to finish Dance with the Devil. It was a very fast read and I loved the story of Zarek. Zarek is the Dark-Hunter that has been exiled to Alaska for over 900 years. He is up for judgement for crimes that could have him put to death. The judge that Acheron and Artemis send to give the final answer is Astrid, who is the youngest sister of the Fates. Astrid must find something good in Zarek to keep him from being turned into a Shade. Unknown to Zarek and Astrid, Artemis has sent out Thanatos to dispose of Zarek and he won't answer her summons to return to her. Dance with the Devil is a fast paced book that keeps you going until you get to the very last page. Zarek becomes so much more than even Acheron knew he was capable of becoming. I planned on going right into the next Dark-Hunter novel, but I picked up Phantom Pleasures by Julie Leto after church, and must finish it first. Julie has been posting a chapter a day since Monday, so I can't wait to see what happens in the next chapter!

Dance with the Devil

Tonight I will begin Dance with the Devil. I believe this is the story of Zarek, who I was introduced to in Night Embrace. I like Zarek from the first time he hit the pages, because he appears to be such a complex person. By the end of Night Embrace, you could tell there was much more to him than what he wanted to show others.

Night Embrace

Night Embrace tells the story of Talon of the Morrigantes and Sunshine Runningwolf. The Dark-Hunter series continues with twist and turns that I personally didn't see coming. You can actually feel the emotions between Talon and Sunshine coming off the pages.

You also meet a couple of new Dark Hunters that hopefully will get their own stories in the future. The story of Acheron remains a mystery that I know will get answers over the series and in his book that is coming out in August. Acheron appears to be the most complex character in the series and I can't wait to finish each book so I can find out not only more about Acheron, but also all the other Dark Hunters.

Night Pleasures

I finished Night Pleasures first thing this morning. I have to admit that I'm totally hooked on the Dark-Hunter series! Kyrian and Amanda have great chemistry. When they have a fight, it's just like any other couple fighting. I'm starting Night Embrace today, and can't wait to get home to start reading tonight. I was told about this series several months ago at a JR Ward signing, and can only say that I'm glad I listened to the suggestion!

Started Night Pleasures

I am starting Night Pleasures by Sherrilyn Kenyon. It is the second book in The Dark-Hunter series. As I said when I read Fantasy Lover, I only started the series because someone told me I would enjoy them as much as JR Ward's BDB series. So far I'm very impressed with the series, but not sure that it will surpass the BDB series on my top 10 list.

Reading Dark Lover

I started Fantasy Lover by Sherrilyn Kenyon, which is the first in The Dark Hunter series. I picked up this book because several other readers that have read JR Ward suggested it would be a good read. I love this book! It has a great combo of romance, mystery, and history that keeps me on the edge of my seat. I believe there are about 10 more in the series that already been written, so I should have many days of reading ahead.

Finished No Safe Place

I loved No Safe Place! The chemistry between Nick and Kate just screams off the page. I love the romance mixed in with the suspense. I can usually figure out the bad guy in any mystery I read, but Joann had me picking the wrong guy as the bad guy. I can only hope to see some of the characters from this book in future Joann Ross books.

Laugh out loud funny!!!

I finished Curse of the Spellmans by Lisa Lutz and loved it! The Spellman family is one of the funniest I've ever read. Izzy(older sister) and Rae(youngest Spellman) both have the driest wit and I love the interactions between Izzy and her parents. Izzy's parents still see her as the screw-up she was in high school no matter how much she has changed. You see a bit more of Izzy's "perfect brother" David in this book. He is usually much more serious than any of the other Spellman's, but is going though a bit of a life change it this book.

The actions of the Spellman family makes you want to read the next adventure of the Spellmans as soon as this one is over.

Curse of the Spellmans

I picked up Curse of the Spellmans by Lisa Lutz from the library on Friday. It is the second in the Spellman series that started last year with The Spellman Files. The Spellman Files had me laughing out loud and was a great read that was very entertaining.

Finished Blood Price

I admit I only wanted to read Blood Price because of the Lifetime show Bloodties that is based on Tanya Huff's series. I really enjoyed the first in the series and already plan to put the rest of the series on hold with the library once I reduce my TBR pile. The story moved a little slow in the first couple of chapters, but moved very quickly from that point. The chemistry between Vicki and Mike and between Vicki and Henry makes it tough to pick which man she should choose.

Blood Price

So, I have to finish Blood Price by Tanya Huff and get it back to the library by Monday, so I'm putting No Safe Place on hold for now. I wanted to read Blood Price because I loved the Lifetime series "Blood Ties", that has to my knowledge been cancelled. Vicki and Henry were so hot together on the show that I wanted to see if I would enjoy the books as much. I have only gotten into vampire books in the last year, so I'm really excited to try and find another vampire author to read.

Started No Safe Place

As I'm still working through my TBR pile, No Safe Place by Joann Ross was the next my pile. Moves back and forth between Chicago and New Orleans in the beginning, but is really picking up the pace now that it is focusing on New Orleans. I can already feel the chemistry between Nick and Kate jump off the pages. Now if only I could get one whole day just to read...

Finished Impulse

I finished Impulse earlier this week and can only say great read! I like a book that makes me think and only figured out the bad guy about one chapter before the end of the book. Great romance and suspense equals a must read book.
