MATCHED (MISFIT BRIDES OF BLISS #2)

Welcome Back to Bliss, The Land of Happily Ever Afters!

Lindsey Castellano couldn’t ask for more. She’s the most successful divorce lawyer ever raised in Bliss. (Never mind that she’s the only one.) She’s her nephew’s favorite aunt. (For the moment, anyway.) And thanks to a little gift (or curse) from the universe, she’s an expert at avoiding love, commitment, and inevitable heartbreak. Or so she thought until the night of her sister’s wedding.

Will Truitt might’ve grown up living a country song—his momma died, his daddy went to prison, and his dog ran away—but as an adult, he’s been blessed by the country rock gods. Being Billy Brenton on stage isn’t an honor he takes lightly. He likes to give back what fame has given him, which is how he finds himself happily crashing a wedding in this quirky little bridal-obsessed town. The one thing he isn’t counting on, though, is colliding with the only girl he ever let himself love.

It’s been fifteen years since she shattered his heart. Then, she’d been a sorority girl on her way to the top, and he’d been a lowly janitor with a little bit of a dream. Now he’s on top of the world, and she’s the last person he should need or want.

But she’s the only person who has ever inspired his music. And he’s the only man she’s never been able to forget. Have the years made them wiser, stronger, and better able to love, or this time, will they simply crash and burn harder?

Jamie Farrell
Misfit Brides of Bliss #2
Review copy provided by publisher

Liza's Review:

I found Jamie Farrell's books when I was judging a contest and read Southern Fried Blues. I was immediately hooked on her voice and couldn't wait to read more books from her. The Misfit Brides of Bliss is a laugh out loud funny and sexy series. I swear I've never laughed so hard while reading a romance.

Matched was such a fun read for me. I loved both Will and Lindsey as individuals and as a couple. I love a reunion story and Matched was so well done. Will is now country super star Billy Brenton, and Lindsey is now a hot-shot divorce lawyer helping to bring to rights bad relationships. I love that Lindsey is a matchmaker at heart, even if she doesn't want to admit to it.

Will and Lindsey have amazing chemistry and I loved that when he is around her, he hears music and is able to write his songs. Seriously they are so cute together considering they are so very different. I really felt like their differences helped them to work as a couple. Lindsey is so pragmatic and Will seems like he goes with the flow so much better. The chemistry between Lindsey and Will is super hot and I loved they laughed together as much as they loved together.

Honestly part of the reason I love this series so much is one of the secondary characters, Kimmie. She makes me laugh so hard and is the best friend both Lindsey and her sister Natalie. The girlfriend time in the books is every bit as important to the story as the romance. I also love how the town of Bliss plays such an important role in the story. The town is really a character unto itself.

Matched was a great addition to the Misfit Brides of Bliss series and I can't wait to read more books in the future. I highly recommend Matched to anyone who loves a funny, sweet, and sexy contemporary romance.

Release Date: February 20, 2014 Desert Breeze Publishing

I was lucky enough to get a review copy from the publisher through NetGalley. I'm a really big fan of Heather Lire and love the town she has created in Holiday, Vermont. I've wanted Ethan's story from the moment I first met him. I know it would take a really strong woman to match Ethan, and think Audrey was his perfect match.

I thought the chemistry between Audrey and Ethan was pretty incredible from the very first time they met in the sports bar. I absolutely cracked up that Ethan ate the sandwich with the hottest pepper on earth, while picking Audrey up in the bar. I was a little disappointed that he let her leave at the end of their time in Vegas without trying to get her number, but knew he could find her if he really tried.

Audrey is such a strong woman, even with her hang ups of being in public with her famous family. I swear my favorite part of the book was when she saw Ryan kiss Morgan and she started cussing him out for being a cheater. I loved that she, Morgan and Brynn found friendship so quickly too. I think Ms. Lire showcased how the Sanderson and Cartwright families will help in any way possible to give couples the chance to reconnect.

Audrey and Ethan worked as a couple for me from the beginning. I loved the passion between them, but the tenderness and support they showed for one another just made me even more sure of their relationship. Ethan had much guilt to work through from his past, and I honestly only believe he was able to do so because of the love he gave and received from Audrey.

I honestly feel like the Holiday, Vermont series just gets better with each book. Ms. Lire hooked me with Ryan and Morgan's book, and I can't wait for the next installment, which is currently set for release in August.

Second Chance at Passion Cover Reveal & Excerpt

I'm so excited to share the cover, back cover blurb and an excerpt from Second Chance at Passion from Heather Lire. I'm a huge fan of her Holiday Vermont Series and couldn't wait to read Ethan's story. Let me tell you now it is awesome!!!

Release Date: February 14, 2014
Publisher: Desert Breeze Publishing

Blurb: Audrey Rodriguez has escaped her family's life styles of the rich and famous by moving to the small town of Holiday, Vermont. She settles into her new role as bookstore owner, never expecting to run into her Vegas hook-up.
Ethan Cartwright has been ordered to take a vacation, by his mom no less. The only people he can imagine spending down time with is his family in Holiday. While there he discovers that woman he'd had the best sex of his life was living in this story-brook town.
When Ethan's family needs help taking down a gold-digging-sperm-stealing-nut-job Ethan and Audrey go undercover giving them more than a second chance at passion.
Excerpt:
Audrey was saying goodbye to a happy customer when Morgan burst through the front door, moving as fast as her seven-month-pregnant body would let her. Brynn was right behind her.
Audrey moved around the counter.
"What's happened?"
Images of one of the kids being hurt flashed through her mind.
If something happened to one of those kids Ethan would be destroyed.
Morgan grabbed her hand and pulled her toward the stairs that led to her apartment. Whatever was happening had nothing to do with the kids. Reaching the door to her apartment Morgan pushed it open, and headed for the computer she had in the corner of the apartment. Morgan pulled out the chair and sat, her fingers flying across the keyboard.
An image appeared on the screen. It took her brain a moment to recognize what she was seeing. Two well-defined bodies, sweaty, beating the crap out of each other.
Audrey squinted at the two images. There was something about the bodies. Her breath caught. She knew those bodies, intimately. Well, at least one of them.
They really were identical, with the exception of one tattoo.
Ryan had one on each shoulder. Ethan had one on his left shoulder and one across the back of his shoulders.
She'd never understood the appeal of watching two men beat the crap out of each other, but the unleashed power Ethan was using, had all of her girl parts standing up and screaming. He was sweaty, and breathing hard, and he kept going.
"Bon Dieu." She breathed.
"Um, hmm." Morgan mumbled, rubbing her stomach.
"Where did you…" she gulped as Ethan and Ryan slammed to the floor. Images of the last time Ethan had her on the floor raced through her mind.
"Durf."
Audrey had met the owner of the local pub, and apparently the gym Ryan worked out in.
"God bless that man."
"Ryan is so getting lucky when he gets home. I don't care what the doctor says."
She'd grown up with three very active brothers, but they'd never gone at each other like this. It was primal and erotic at the same time.
"So's Ethan."
Not taking her eyes from the monitor she pulled a chair over and watched the fight. By the time Ethan and Ryan separated, her girl parts weren't just screaming. They were demanding she track him down and make him take care of them.
"Where?" She struggled to get out.
"Don't know, but I'm so glad my kids are at school." Morgan braced a hand on the desk and back of the chair and stood. "Now if you'll excuse me I'm going home and sending my husband a dirty text that is guaranteed to get him home."
A dirty text was a great idea. She pulled her phone from her pocket. Maudit, she still didn't have Ethan's cell number.
"Morgan could you…"
"Already sent."
She checked her text messages and sure enough there was a new message from Morgan with a phone number.
She trailed behind Morgan, making sure she didn't fall down the stairs in her hurry to get home. Entering the bookstore she discovered Brynn behind the counter, happily ringing up customers and talking books.
"Brynn, do you think you could watch the store this afternoon?"
What she had in mind was going to take more than an hour. If they surfaced before tomorrow she'd be surprised.
Brynn's laughter floated across the store.
"Sure. Tell Ethan he owes me one."
Audrey left her store in Brynn's capable hands and headed back upstairs. It wasn't a seduction she was planning. That was too tame. No, what she had planned was more along the lines of hard, fast and dirty. At least the first four times.
She typed a text message and hit send.

Getting to know her however has proven difficult, until they are thrown together on the annual Christmas play.

I'm a really big fan of Heather Lire's Holiday, Vermont series. I was lucky enough to be given an ARC from the author with the promise of an honest review.

A Holiday Christmas is a novella length story, where I got to visit with some of my favorite characters and meet new favorites. I have to say Averie and Corey both pretty much stole my heart from the very beginning. Their romance was both sweet and sexy. I loved they found strength to deal with all that life threw at them from one another.

A Holiday Christmas is the perfect read to help get readers in the mood for Christmas. I've come to expect beautifully written stories from Ms. Lire, and she totally delivered once again.
