MATCHED (MISFIT BRIDES OF BLISS #2)

Welcome Back to Bliss, The Land of Happily Ever Afters!

Lindsey Castellano couldn’t ask for more. She’s the most successful divorce lawyer ever raised in Bliss. (Never mind that she’s the only one.) She’s her nephew’s favorite aunt. (For the moment, anyway.) And thanks to a little gift (or curse) from the universe, she’s an expert at avoiding love, commitment, and inevitable heartbreak. Or so she thought until the night of her sister’s wedding.

Will Truitt might’ve grown up living a country song—his momma died, his daddy went to prison, and his dog ran away—but as an adult, he’s been blessed by the country rock gods. Being Billy Brenton on stage isn’t an honor he takes lightly. He likes to give back what fame has given him, which is how he finds himself happily crashing a wedding in this quirky little bridal-obsessed town. The one thing he isn’t counting on, though, is colliding with the only girl he ever let himself love.

It’s been fifteen years since she shattered his heart. Then, she’d been a sorority girl on her way to the top, and he’d been a lowly janitor with a little bit of a dream. Now he’s on top of the world, and she’s the last person he should need or want.

But she’s the only person who has ever inspired his music. And he’s the only man she’s never been able to forget. Have the years made them wiser, stronger, and better able to love, or this time, will they simply crash and burn harder?

Liza's Review:

I found Jamie Farrell's books when I was judging a contest and read Southern Fried Blues. I was immediately hooked on her voice and couldn't wait to read more books from her. The Misfit Brides of Bliss is a laugh out loud funny and sexy series. I swear I've never laughed so hard while reading a romance.

Matched was such a fun read for me. I loved both Will and Lindsey as individuals and as a couple. I love a reunion story and Matched was so well done. Will is now country super star Billy Brenton, and Lindsey is now a hot-shot divorce lawyer helping to bring to rights bad relationships. I love that Lindsey is a matchmaker at heart, even if she doesn't want to admit to it.

Will and Lindsey have amazing chemistry and I loved that when he is around her, he hears music and is able to write his songs. Seriously they are so cute together considering they are so very different. I really felt like their differences helped them to work as a couple. Lindsey is so pragmatic and Will seems like he goes with the flow so much better. The chemistry between Lindsey and Will is super hot and I loved they laughed together as much as they loved together.

Honestly part of the reason I love this series so much is one of the secondary characters, Kimmie. She makes me laugh so hard and is the best friend both Lindsey and her sister Natalie. The girlfriend time in the books is every bit as important to the story as the romance. I also love how the town of Bliss plays such an important role in the story. The town is really a character unto itself.

Matched was a great addition to the Misfit Brides of Bliss series and I can't wait to read more books in the future. I highly recommend Matched to anyone who loves a funny, sweet, and sexy contemporary romance.

TAKE THE FALL

Fans of Abbi Glines and Katy Evans will adore Take the Fall, the first spinoff novel from Marquita Valentine’s New York Times bestselling Boys of the South series. In this emotional new romance, passions run hot as a rugged, brooding Marine rekindles an old flame.

As a teenager, Seth O’Connor went to jail for a crime he had nothing to do with. He took the fall to protect the girl he loved, but the cruel realities of prison hardened him. After doing his time, Seth shuts her out and enlists in the Marines—until his grandmother’s funeral forces him to come home and face Rowan Simmons once again. The woman she’s become puts all his high-school memories to shame, and Seth wants her more than ever. Can he be honest about why he denied her for so long?

After Seth pushed her away, Rowan swore that no man would ever hurt her again. But the boy who broke her heart has become a sexy Marine, capable of fulfilling her every desire—and now that he’s back in town, old feelings are simmering to a boil. Rowan wants to stay strong, even as her body surrenders to his expert touch. She only hopes that by taking him back, she can finally help heal the wounds that drove them apart.

Includes a special message from the editor, as well as an excerpt from another Loveswept title.

Take the Fall #1

Liza’s Review:

I'm a huge fan of Marquita Valentine and was excited to see she had a new New Adult series that is a spinoff from her Boys of the South series. I have to say I really don't read a ton of New Adult, but I have favorite authors who write in the genre and I never miss their books.

I really enjoyed Take the Fall. I'm a big fan of reunion stories, and really liked watching Rowan and Seth reconnect. I totally understood Rowan's reluctance to trust Seth was honest about his feelings when he first returned. Yes he served time for a crime he didn't commit to protect Rowan, be he also cut her off completely while he was in prison and she was back home dealing with the backlash of both him and her brother going to prison. I loved how hard Seth had to work to prove to Rowan that they belonged together again.

Part of the reason I still bought Rowan and Seth as a couple after being apart for so long was the fact their chemistry was just as strong now as it was when they were teens. While they had both lived different lives while away from each other, I felt like their renewed chemistry was part of what helped them move forward and have the chance at a long-term relationship. I understood Rowan's need to protect herself and loved how Seth finally proved how much he and changed and loved her.

Take the Fall was an awesome start to a new series. I loved that we get to meet Rowan's best friend Piper and Rowan's brother Jase in Take the Fall. I could already feel their connection to one another and am super excited their story will be the next in the series.
