ON THE EDGE OF SCANDAL (SNOW & ICE GAMES #3)

Bronwyn Perry is the star of the US women’s hockey team, and she and her boyfriend Brody Hill have been hockey royalty since they’ve been in high school. Brody unexpectedly fails to make the men’s team but still comes to Denver to support his girl at the Snow and Ice Games. Or so Bronwyn thinks.

Ash Levenson is the coach of the women’s SIG hockey team. His primary responsibility is to keep his team happy, healthy, and primed to win. Though he’s close in age to his players, he’s been doing this for a while and mostly, it’s easy to keep his eyes on the puck. He’s always been able to discard any crush he might have on any of the women he’s coached…until Bronwyn.

When Bronwyn and Brody’s romance comes to a very public and very ugly end, Ash has to get his star player’s head back in the game and ready to dominate on the rink. Which may mean spending a little time off the ice…

Liza's Review:

I’ve really enjoyed reading the Snow & Ice Games books, especially while watching the Olympics this year. I really enjoyed the first 2 books and was excited to start On the Edge of Scandal, especially because the main character was a hockey player.

Honestly, while I really liked both Bronwyn and Ash as characters, I had major issues with a coach dating and sleeping with one of his players. The fact that Ash really struggled and did try and fight his attraction to Bronwyn really helped me feel a little bit better about the situation. I will say that I was so glad to see Bronwyn get away from her ex-boyfriend Brody and wanted nothing more than to see him get the crap beat out of him for how he acted.

While I had issues with the coach and player being together, they did have really great chemistry and I liked they each really got the other one so well. I just kept going back to how much trouble it would be for both of them if they were caught, which distracted me a bit from the story.

I still have 2 more stories to read in the Snow & Ice Games series and had planned to finish both before the Olympics ended, but didn’t get them finished in time. I must keep reading to find out how Ms. Parker ends the series.

SEDUCTION ON THE SLOPES (SNOW AND ICE GAMES #2)

Miles Palmer has dominated the downhill slalom in every Snow and Ice Games he’s competed in. Double gold, double gold, double gold, and he’s confident he can round out his career and his trophy case with two more medals in his last appearance at the games. The only thing that could stop him? Crash Delaney.

Crash is a young upstart who came out of nowhere and shocked the downhill world with his swagger and untraditional style. As a kid, Crash didn’t have the resources to learn how to race properly, but he begged, borrowed, and stole equipment, and went to any competition he could thumb a ride to. Now the only thing between him and his dreams coming true is his childhood hero, the man whose posters have graced his walls since before he’d ridden in his first chairlift.

Miles and Crash are technically teammates, but you wouldn’t know it from the way they fight. The veteran and the nobody have both got big things riding on this race, and neither can afford any distractions. Especially not each other.

Liza's Review:

Seduction on the Slopes is the second book in the Snow and Ice Games series from Tamsen Parker. I first heard about the series at the Fall in Love with New England conference when the author was talking about how she came up with the idea for the series and knew I had to read each book in the series.

Miles Parker and Crash Delaney are pretty much polar opposites when it comes to how they were raised and how they have trained in their sport. Miles came from a family where he had every advantage for training and equipment. Crash literally pieces his equipment together from the lost and found and even steals a few items at times. Miles has complete support from his family where as Crash has been on his own since he was 16. Even with all their differences, I found myself loving each of these guys so much.

I also love the banter between Miles and Crash. Miles is the veteran who is put in charge of keeping Crash in line. While initially I wondered how these two guys could ever be friends, yet alone lovers, I knew their mutual attraction would win out in the end. I had to laugh their physical relationship started to calm Crash down before interviews, yet they became much more intimate with each passing day. Seriously the heat factor between Miles and Crash was smoking hot! I totally fell for them as a couple and hated they had to compete against one another in the Snow and Ice Games. They became not only lovers but, real teammates and I knew only one could come out on top in the Games.

I've been hooked on the Snow and Ice Games series from the very first book. Tamsen Parker pulls me in from the very first page and makes me not only care about the competition of the athletes, but the couples that have developed in each book so far. I'm so glad I discovered Tamsen Parker and can't wait to start reading her back list as soon as I finish all of the Snow and Ice Games books.

LOVE ON THE TRACKS (SNOW & ICE GAMES #1)

Welcome to the Snow and Ice Games where the competition is fierce and the romance is HOT.

Rowan Andrews is the unexpected darling of the Denver Snow and Ice Games. Luge has never captured the American public’s imagination as much as figure skating or even hockey, but her outsized personality and dare-devil ways have got everyone’s eyes glued to the track. Including a certain chart-topping heartthrob.

Zane Rivera is the lead singer of License to Game, the hottest band in the country. When Zane finds out Rowan Andrews has had some complimentary things to say about him, he arranges to meet her while he’s in Denver enjoying the games. And when a photo of him kissing Rowan on the cheek goes viral, they both see the advantages of faking a relationship for the publicity.

After Rowan’s injured in her final race, their relationship starts to feel all too real to Zane. But is this rock star ready to fall in love?

Liza's Review:

Love on the Tracks is the first book in the Snow & Ice Games series from Tamsen Parker and a great start to a new series. I really thought Ms. Parker did a great job setting up the Snow & Ice Games as games for serious athletes.

I really like both Rowan and Zane as individuals and as a couple. I did laugh out loud a bit when Rowan fan-girled all over Zane when she initially met him.  I would love to blame such reactions on her age, and it partly is true, but I myself have felt that way meeting authors for the first time, so I totally got it. I did expect her to get over her fan-girl issues a bit sooner, but as Rowan was only 20, I gave her a pass for this one issue. Part of why I loved Rowan so much was that she knew who she was and had no problems with going after what she wanted. I love she is such a fierce competitor in luge and she has very little issue speaking her mind.

Zane is the lead singer of Licence to Game, which is the boy band he started out with 10 years ago. At 26 he is a bit more mature than Rowan, but not so much they didn't work for me. I did love that he was already thinking ahead to his next music venture even while still at the top of the game with Licence to Game. I loved that Zane and Rowen were kind of thrown together to help both their images and improve their marketing for their respective groups, yet you could tell early on they had genuine feelings for one another. They also pretty much had trouble keeping their hands off each other when they were together. I loved how passionate they were about both their careers and each other.

I really enjoyed Love on the Tracks and recommend it to anyone who enjoys fast-paced super sexy romances. I am completely hooked on this series after only the first book and can't wait to see where Tamsen Parker takes us with the rest of the books in the series.
