WELL BUILT

When it comes to women, sexy, well-built Kyle Coleman has always been a lover, not a fighter. His one exception? The sassy, tempting, smart-mouthed Ella Fisher. Her family and his are sworn enemies, which make the two of them off-limits—despite the fact that she's inspired some of his dirtiest, most erotic fantasies for years. But when the lines between animosity and lust become irrevocably blurred one fateful evening, their one night stand leads to a very unexpected consequence—that changes everything between them forever.

Liza's Review:

I really love a reunion story and have to say Well Built was done perfectly. Ten years really is a good bit time to pass for both people to grow and change.

Kyle Coleman is all sorts of yummy and not only because he is such a hottie. He wants to buy the building next to Fisher's Market to give his mom her dream. Seriously can you be any more swoon-worthy than that? Of course it is also the building Ella Fisher wants to expand her family's market so she can help the local artisans in town have a place to sell their creations. I love that the old building is the reason Kyle and Ella start to spend time together after no seeing each other in 10 year. I could totally feel the connection they still had the first moment they saw each other again.

Ella Fisher is such a strong character. She has pretty much taken over taking care of her family and business following her dad's stroke 10 years ago. The fact that her older sister is pretty much MIA and never been a help even when around made me angry. Ella had such strength and determination where it came to her family and business, yet had put her personal life and her own happiness on the back burner for way too long. I love that when Kyle came back into her life, she started thinking about herself some as well.

I honestly hated that the reason Kyle and Ella had to end their relationship wasn't really because of anything either of them had any part of. Yes it was because of family members from each of their families, but still wasn't about them. I loved that Kyle was pretty much all in for them to be in a relationship from the moment they made love again the first time. I understood Ella wanting to protect her dad, but hated that she felt the need to put his needs over her own wants and needs. I have to say I pretty much cheered when Ella finally stood up for herself and put herself and Kyle at the top of her priority list.

Well Built was a wonderful sexy. sweet, and emotional filled second chance romance. I loved Kyle and Ella finally have their chance together. It wasn't easy for them with the past family drama, but it was a completely satisfying romance. I highly recommend Well Built to all romance readers. Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde once again made me fall in love with their story from the moment I started reading.

Nikki’s Review:

Let me just start by saying how absolutely filthy Kyle Coleman is! And by filthy, I mean wickedly raunchy in all the right ways!

I love second chance romances! I love it when the characters come to the realization that they already gave their hearts away to each other years ago. Kyle and Ella have this connection that leaps from the pages. Their chemistry was palpable. And holy crap, the love scenes were all kinds of sexy! I may have said this before, but I think this is Carly and Erika's hottest book yet! Kyle has the filthiest mouth...and tongue! I love it!

Kyle is giving his mother her dream. But in doing so, he's taking one of Ella's away. I could feel his unhappiness at having to make that kind of decision. But I could also understand that he made the right one. One of the things I liked best about Ella was her graciousness. She was hurt and disappointed by losing out on buying the building to expand her business, but she wasn't horrible about it. I almost expected her to lash out. It never came. Instead, she was honest in her disappointment, but kept her integrity intact by being a nice person.

It was fun watching Kyle Ella navigate their way through a new relationship with each other. It also hurt my heart to see them struggling with obstacles that seemed insurmountable...at least to Ella. I adored Kyle! He wore his heart on his sleeve, and it was wonderful to see a hero who wasn't afraid of that.

This book, like the others in the series, was so much fun. It had a little bit of everything. It made me giggle, it made me sad, it made my belly flutter, it just plain old brought me joy! The writing is phenomenal. Carly and Erika continue to sweep me off of my feet with their delicious heroes and the strong heroines who love them! I can hardly wait for book #4, Rock Solid!

Liza's Review:

I really hated Julian for using Kendall in the way he did in Going Down Easy, and have to say the first way he started redeeming himself to me was by owning his past choices rather than saying they were mistakes. I also started to take into consideration he was unaware of Kendall's illness when they were together, as Kendall had never shared the fact she was bipolar, though that still didn't give Julian the right to use Kendall. As Julian started to share his background and his family's background with Kendall, it gave me more insight into why he became and addict and made the choice he made along the way.  Julian truly had been through hell and back and while I didn't agree with many of his actions, I did finally understand why he made the choices from his past.

Kendall had been through hell thanks to her mental illness. Now that she is finally able to stay on a solid therapy plan, medicine plan, and has found an outlet and a job she loves working with rescue dogs. She is just starting to feel like her life is on a firm footing when Julian shows back up in her life. I loved that Kendall was super wary of Julian when he first showed up, even as she was still completely drawn to him. I found myself loving that while Kendall didn't fall right back in with Julian, she did listen to him explain his past and finally shared her medical issues as well.

Kendall and Julian totally had an uphill battle to be in a long-term relationship with Kendall's family. While I felt like Kendall and Julian both made mistakes in the present with regards to their future, I loved they both came out strong once each got their heads back on straight. The chemistry between Kendall and Julian was every bit as strong as it was in the past. I actually felt it was even stronger now, as they both were being honest with one another.

Going in Deep gave me all the feels. I laughed, sighed, got angry a few times, and cried both sad and happy tears. I love when a story makes me feel a myriad of emotions, and Ms. Phillips did it in spades with Going in Deep. Julian and Kendall's redemption story was everything and more than I expected, and is hands down one of the best stories Carly Phillips has ever written.

Nikki’s Review:

The anticipation for this book was utterly insane. As soon as I heard that Julian and Kendall were getting their own book I was happy, but also skeptical. I wasn't sure how this story would work. I wasn't even sure I wanted them together!

I hated Julian in book 1. He was not a nice person. What he did to Kendall was just mean and truly awful. I had very strong reactions towards him. Carly wrote this character, in my opinion, to be unredeemable. I've often thought about how she would be able to pull this off. I was worried that I would come away from,  Going In Deep still disliking Julian.

It turns out that Julian has all sorts of baggage and his own demons that he's been fighting for a long time. What I loved in this book was how he never used his circumstances as an excuse for his behaviour. It was just what pushed him into his self-destructive period. I gotta tell ya, I fell for Julian pretty quickly in this book. I couldn't believe that Ms. Phillips was able to make my feelings flip so fast! How crazy talented is that! I wanted to hold onto my dislike for Julian, but it was impossible. As soon as I saw into his heart I was a goner.

Jeezus...Kendall has been dragged through the mud backwards. Her mental illness has kept her from so much in life. It's made her incredibly sad and alone. It's also been difficult for her twin sister who has cared and picked up after her. After being betrayed by Julian and then getting the real help she needed, she's finally living a life that is providing some happiness. Her trust issues are definitely there, but she's moving forward.

When Kendall makes the decision to give Julian a chance to prove that he's a changed man, I found myself holding my breath. I was waiting for him to screw up and tear her down again. This was an intense journey into forgiveness and redemption. I felt so many emotions while reading this book.

I absolutely love that Carly Phillips is not afraid to write about difficult subject matters. Her characters in this series have seemed so real to me. They're characters that readers can relate with. Mental illness is often debilitating and isolating for the person suffering. And I think the author depicted that very accurately in this book.

This was a beautiful story. The journey to Julian and Kendall's happily ever after was full of obstacles and plenty of heartache. But I think it was worth it. The bond between the two characters is incredible and so deserving of the fight to get what they both wanted...love and happiness.

Liza’s Review:

Faking It is the 2nd book in the Book Boyfriend series from Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde. Seriously two of my absolute favorite authors teaming up to give me book heaven once again. I loved everything about Max and Hailey's story.

I absolutely fell in love with Max Sterling as I read more and more of Faking It. He is such a sexy and strong hero. He actually looks at people and sees them for more than what is on the outside. I loved how much he cared for and wanted Hailey pretty much from the moment they met. I also loved how attracted Hailey was to Max from the moment they met. So much so that he was on her mind when they were away from one another. I adored Hailey and Max as a couple. Their attractions was off the charts hot and Max helped Hailey see herself the way he saw her.

The fake engagement between Max and Hailey was destined to be real pretty much from the moment they agreed to it. Max and Hailey both liked each other as individuals, but needed help for personal reasons and business reasons. Max wanted to get away from stalker Addison, who was a family friend who wouldn't take no for an answer and Hailey is a successful matchmaker with no boyfriend. Max and Hailey worked on every level as a couple for me. Max took things slowly to earn Hailey's trust and Hailey became so much happier and stronger for having Max in her life first as a friend and then a lover.

Faking It was one of those books I wanted to re-read as soon as I finished reading it the first time. In fact, I've already read it twice and loved it just as much on the second reading. Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde give their readers characters to fall in love with and feel like you could be friends with as well. I highly recommend Faking It to all lovers of contemporary romances.

Nikki’s Review:

Two very talented authors made another book baby! I love when Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde put their phenomenal writing skills together and make perfection happen!

This book was pure fun. It's one of those books that keeps you smiling while getting lost in the romance. And the romance is blistering hot!

Max and Hailey are incredibly likeable characters. They are both genuinely nice people. Max is all hunky and smouldering bedroom eyes. Hailey is the nice girl next door with a healthy dose of body insecurities. I think a lot of women can relate to Hailey's issues. She's hard on herself regarding her size. She's healthy and beautiful, but all she's able to see is her perceived "flaws". Just like a lot of women, she's her own worst critic. Max thinks she's the cats ass! He wants her something fierce!

These two are faking an engagement. Emotions aren't suppose to come into play...ha! The heart wants what the heart wants! And so does the body!

I really adored these two together. They have chemistry that just leaps off of the page. The love scenes in this book are both romantic and wickedly spicy! I love me some spice!

I can always count on Ms. Phillips and Ms. Wilde to write a solid story. And like all the other books, I wasn't disappointed with this one. The plot sucked me in and kept my attention until the very end. I laughed, I was angry, and my heart fluttered. All the emotions were in this one. The writing is nothing short of wonderful!

How these two authors keep coming up with storylines that stay fresh and entertaining is a wonder. Each book they write together gets better and better. As always, it was a true pleasure to spend time in the "world" they have created. You should totally read this book!
