BEYOND SURRENDER (BEYOND #9)

She’s the heart of O’Kane liquor.

For years, Nessa has been focused on work. She keeps the whiskey—and the money—flowing, and life is sweet. Sure, she’s tired of being everyone’s baby sister, and she longs for a man who can stand up to her overprotective O’Kane brothers. But she never thought she’d meet him in the middle of a war.

He’s the brains of the revolution.

War is all Ryder knows. He was raised with one goal: to ensure the sectors’ successful rebellion against Eden. His father and his mentor both died for freedom, and nothing will stop him from securing their legacies with victory. He doesn’t have time for distractions—especially beautiful, impulsive ones like Nessa.

Opposites don’t just attract, they combust. Together, Nessa and Ryder have a chance for something more than the lives they’ve always known. But this is war—deadly, bloody war—and the only way to happily-ever-after is straight through Eden.

Liza’s Review:

I honestly wasn't sure to expect when I started reading Beyond Surrender. I knew this would be the final battle between the sectors and Eden and knew we would get a romance with Nessa and Ryder, but beyond that, I'm not sure I was ready for the roller coaster ride that was Beyond Surrender.

I honestly don't feel like I can say much without giving away the entire story. First I'll say I really loved that Nessa finally found a man who would stand up to her O'Kane family and really see her and love her. I really enjoyed watching their relationship grow into more as they prepared for war and even into the war. They had pretty amazing chemistry and as one would expect from an O'Kane book, smoking hot sex scenes.

I'm not going to lie to anyone. Have tissues ready when reading Beyond Surrender. I even tweeted the authors while reading I was made they made me cry so many times and so hard at least once. The war is brutal and I really didn't know if everyone I wanted to survive would survive. Even while I was bawling my eyes out and cursing the authors, I wouldn't change anything about the story or the outcome.

I honestly feel like Kit Rocha gave the fans of the Beyond series everything they could possible expect from the war between Eden and the sectors. Beyond Surrender totally and completely wrecked me many times as I read it, but there were also times I was laughing out loud and sighing in happiness. I can't wait to start the spin-off series of Gideon's Riders when it is released.
